Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Weren't Pacers like 18-2 to start the season just a few years ago? Did they break the 72-10 record?

The easiest solution for the Warriors to shatter the record is to sign Ditka.

Ok, how about the Hawks last year who won 18 straight or close to that, and everyone anointed them basically co-champions mid season? Didn't work out great for them in the playoffs either. Unless not having Thabo makes that much of a difference.

My point is just that the regular season matters very little in terms of wins and losses. The Warriors have spanked some teams this year. But a decent number of their wins have required furious comebacks. Do you think that"ll fly in the playoffs in the West? What matters is how you're playing together at the end of the season, and how well you play against your playoff opponent. Doesn't matter if you won 14 straight or 4 straight during the regular season.
These would be valid points if the Warriors weren't coming off a championship, with their entire team back. They aren't trying to prove something with this streak like the Hawks were last year, they're just re-affirming their greatness.

82-0?

This team doesn't even have Andre Drummond. Can't be that good.

I know Stereo pointed it out earlier, but it bears reiterating. There is no way this team wins 72 games. As much as everyone on here wants to believe that Golden State cares about the regular season so much, that team has their eyes on repeating and nothing else. If anything, they are trying to lock-up HCA asap so they can rest guys for the last month of the season.

THis team is stacked

great depth

great coaching

lock down defense

awesome offense

great luck with no injuries

With these attributes, the team more than likely wins the game

They should have won the title last year, given the road they had. Not trying to be salty, maybe they would have won anyways. But no one they played match their talent level at all.

They should have swept us once Kyrie went down, honestly. We were just a one man wrecking crew, and it went 6.

The difference is not just in the record, equalized by injuries.

Watch the games. the warriors are playing great basketball. we manage to piece things together while playing sloppy.

And they're playing at full health while we've been missing 2/5 of our starting lineup the entire season, including one of the best PG in the league.

Yes, the difference in the two teams' play has been glaring and can't be ignored, but neither can the fact that we've been killed by injuries and that's also been a key component to us playing sloppy, undisciplined ball.

I do agree though, in that we're playing sloppy, terrible ball at times and not playing anywhere near where we're capable.

Andrew Bogut will be hurt pretty soon.

On the topic of the Warriors, and on the changing NBA game:

Is anyone kinda sick of ALL TEAMS in the league unabashedly gunning up 3pt shots?

The fact that a 3pt shot is worth 50% more than a regular shot has completely changed how teams approach the game. You can shoot 50% on 2's or you can shoot 33% on 3's and essentially have the same result.

As kids are brought up in this style of game; it leads to utter selfishness and low IQ play.

I actually enjoy a good defensive slug-fest sometimes. If the refs are letting them play, it's great.

Teams probably are sick of how inconsistent the refs call these games, so why take it to the rack and potentially get injured or a no-call? That's the logic here, just shoot 3's!

It's really diluting the game IMO. Sure it's awesome watching Curry gun up 3's and make them; yes that's entertaining but you realize how many players are going to mimic this?

None of those imitators are Stephen Curry, period.

In some ways to me Curry's game reminds me of Gilbert Arenas, only Curry is about 5x's the player of Arenas.

Everybody is in love with this new style of ball, but honestly it's monotonous to me. I enjoy a balanced attack.

I enjoy teams who are hyenas on defense, mix in a combination of inside shots, mid-range shots, and 3 balls.

At this rate, the players are completely used to 3pt shots, they can all hit 3's unconsciously. I actually wouldn't mind if they pushed the 3pt line back considerably.

They're not going 82-0, they're going 98-0.

Greatest team ever. Greatest, most durable superstar ever. Completely unstoppable.

Watching them and the Nuggets right now. Their team ball movement is just amazing. Everyone is unselfish and they get so many easy open shots because of it. They would thrive in any era.
