Pretty good posts above. Again, I fucking hate them. So much. But guys, come on, they are a better team than last year.

I was one of the few people that thought maybe they wouldn't be. I thought maybe they did sacrifice too much depth. I thought losing Bogut would hurt their defense replacing him with Zaza.

None of that happen.

I was dead wrong. Completely. I underestimated that Durant is not only clearly a better offensive player (which was a given), but a much better defensive player than Barnes. He's just flat out better in all ways than him.

And the most frightening part is I still don't think Curry and Durant are on the exact same page, yet. This was expected, and they're still at this point the best team in the league right now. Those two should get better together, and that's pretty unfair.

Hey!!

Maybe it's Cavs - Spurs after tonight.

Hope SA can knock them off.

But..... I doubt it

Warriors in 5.

Love Kawhi Leonard, Aldridge will give them fits, Pop is a better coach.. but GS has way, way too much talent.

I honestly don't see them losing more than 2 games until the finals. Their going to be that scary.

Sent from my Galaxy Edge. Don't forget that the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

A great regular season team picked up a great regular season player...and guess what?

They are great in the regular season again.

We all knew they would be great in the regular season. If they storm through the West playoffs, I'll be worried. Until then, I'm not impressed by the paper champs working on their regular season 3peat.

Until they prove themselves in the playoffs, I have zero worries.

Will be interesting to see what happens with this team in the offseason.

Unless he takes a pay cut, Curry's salary triples from $12m yearly to $36m yearly

Approximately $98m tied up in their big 4. Cap estimate is $102m, luxury line at $122m. How much is left for Iggy, Livingston, Zaza, Varejao, West and Clark- are of whom are free agents.

-Iggy has proven to be a key piece as he defends LeBron well. But he isn't getting younger. Career earnings ~$118m, think he returns at a fair price for both sides

-Livingston will be 31, going on 32. I imagine his market is at least $10m yearly. Career earnings ~26m, there will be suitors out there. Think he leaves

-Zaza left a ton of money last offseason. Career earnings ~$53m but has never made more than $5m in a season. Imagine he could get $30m over 3 from someone, does he turn that down again? Think he returns

-West is 36. Two significant paycuts the last 2 years. Think he retires, ring or no ring

-Varejao. Doesn't really matter.

-I imagine Clark is gone. ~$3m career earnings & undrafted; he should & likely will go to the highest bidder.

Rest Lebron, Love, Jefferson, Frye and whoever feels like it for a couple of weeks, maybe a month. Doesn't matter, we'll still come out of the East.

As a matter of fact, if you rest Lebron, you can rest pretty much everyone since the result will be more or less the same.

I've seen way too many of the "we aren't going to be able to beat GS..." posts.

They look similar to the "we aren't going to be able to beat GS...they might win 73!" posts.....

And they also look very similar to the "Cavs are done. Game 4 was a must-win. Now GSW gets to celebrate at home this year...." posts.

There's always SOME kind of reason. This year, I admit, citing the Durant addition is a fair point....

but never forget:

So we're putting our hopes on gsw choking again in the finals? Great...

Oh so it was just them choking?

Maybe if you mean on LeBron's sack...sure..

Game 5: LBJ 41, Kyrie 41...(Blowout most of the way..)
Game 6: LBJ 41 Kyrie 23 (Blowout almost the whole way..)
Game 7:LBJ 30PT Triple Double. The Block, The Shot, The Stop(down by like, 8 at halftime....JR tied it within minutes.. not like they choked away a huge lead)

The Cavs went and TOOK that finals from the Warriors. The 3-1 lead memes are pretty funny but they alter the story of what really happened if you think it was us solely relying on a choke job.

These aren't basketball reasons. Just "well, things like this happened last year, so they'll happen again!" I get the appeal of that and would buy right in if it made sense. But it doesn't. They added Kevin Durant and we did nothing to counter. Things are completely different. Oh well. We will see how it plays out in June. But if they win and keep those four together, I don't think you see us keep this same core together.

At the same time, this isn’t a very good argument to make if you’re suggesting this is some kind of repeatable thing that can happen again this year.

A similar set of events happening again this year (when one of these two teams has gotten objectively better by several metrics, while the other team has at best stayed the same...)...the odds of the Warriors imploding again and LeBron and Kyrie having to go god-mode to eventually win the series by a hair...it’s statistically remote.
