The General Terrorist Rampage Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Of course. constitution requires the president to denounce every act of violence committed in his country. Because you never know if he approved of it or not.

Eh. I think it would go some ways towards improving his diplomacy with liberals and maybe a handful of Muslims.

That said, doubtful he gaf about that.

Yea it would be nice if he did but he's not required to and it'd be silly to expect it after any event, especially after one that would piss off his constituents

Hes never going to get those on the left on his side, they flip out over his hands and ice cream. They're gone. But it would be nice to take heat off of Muslim Americans by showing compassion and treating them like people

It was ruled a terrorist attack.

On US soil

The President of the United States has not mentioned it.

Looks like General Kelly is really turning this show around.

@MediumBaller what do you disagree with.

Has Trump mentioned there was a terrorist attack on US soil?

Were you this salty about Fort Hood being labeled a "workplace violence" incident instead of a terrorist attack? Or the Florida nightclub shooting being called "gun violence" instead of a terrorist attack?

It took Obama six years to call Fort Hood a terrorist attack.

How long did it take Obama to acknowledge that it actually fucking happened?

This whatabout-ism with Trump supporters drawing these terrible false equivalence has to end at some point.

They all HATED Obama, and the first instinctual response to everything Trump did is some dipshit try at exposing how Trump is the same.

And you HATE Trump. It's not a false equivalence. Trump did something, you throw a hissy fit. Obama did something similar, radio silence.

You're worried about violence against Muslims, that's fine. It's understandable. Were you worried when Obama was pushing the "hands up don't shoot" narrative that led to police officers being targeted? Were you upset about that? Trump isn't actively pushing a false narrative after this event that leads to Muslims being attacked. He just hasn't said anything about it. To me, that's not as bad as Obama pushing a false story that led to people being killed.

You're being dishonest. Obama did not ignore it completely, and to say Trump isn't stoking irrational fear of Muslims is...simply ignorant, but I'll leave it at that.

Yes, I would classify myself as someone who doesn't respect violence at any level. So I would denounce violence, but Obama has obviously never advocated for anything remotely close to this, and consistently derided violence in many of his speeches.

What did Obama do to push "hands up, don't shoot" specifically?

A terrorist attacked the largest military base in the world and Obama denied that it was a terrorist attack. That's a pretty big deal.

As for hands up don't shoot, there was his speech. He was trying to say that Mike Brown was targeted because he was black, not because he, you know, robbed a store and attacked a cop.

http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/sep/28/obama-says-michael-browns-death-in-ferguson-stains/

“In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement,” Mr. Obama said. “Too many young men of color feel targeted by law enforcement — guilty of walking while black or driving while black, judged by stereotypes that fuel fear and resentment and hopelessness.”

About the same time Mr. Obama was speaking Saturday night, a Ferguson police officer was shot in the arm after an encounter with two men at a community center in the St. Louis suburb. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a media briefing early Sunday that the officer approached the men around 9:10 p.m. Saturday because the community center was closed."

The Pentagon did. Obama's administration later sought to change that, and award Purple Hearts to those who survived.

If you want to argue about bureaucracy, I'm all ears. But don't be disingenuous, your test scores are too high to be intentionally dishonest.

And? This has been proven to be the case. Nor does this implore any sort of violence against cops.

There is vast amounts of evidence which suggest that major overhaul is needed in policing. @King Stannis has provided some excellent insights on this, in the past.

If the Pentagon labeled it "workplace violence" and Obama just went along with it then I was mistaken. There have been other instances where this has happened, though.

I don't disagree that sometimes black people are targeted for being black, but this wasn't a case of that. Why choose Mike Brown as his example?
