The Golden State Warriors Era

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You know what would improve competitive balance?

If 28 league owners would fucking quit and stop getting bent over by the 4 good owners in the NBA. Maybe more stars would stay on their team their whole career if ownership didn’t openly treat them like assets without feelings, and owners actually went all out to surround stars with great players

I wonder if that's even possible, hypothetically speaking. The word owner seems like an over-statement when it comes to the NBA. Those guys are basically renting the teams and the profit that comes with them. If they truly owned those teams, they couldn't be forced to sell them, right? (Sterling/Clippers)

That's a good point. Never really thought about it before. Owning an NBA team is kinda like owning a McDonalds or some other chain franchise. Yes you "own" that particular one but if you don't do what your supposed to your corporate overlords can take it from you.

I mean you can own something and the government says you have to give it up so they can build an airport. It's not that deep.

My excitement level of seeing the Warriors in the finals June of 2019 is zero out of 100. I will def be doing something else those nights 9 months from now.

Whatever they give Curry and Klay and Durant, they seem to have give it to Demarcus Cousins:

It's almost a shame the warriors will be the only team -not- allowed to give him a huge contract -next- year. I think his stint with the warriors is going to turn him into a top 3 player with his new 3pt skills.

I'll reserve judgment until I see him change direction at speed. His injury is a very difficult one to return from

Looking at the video... It seems like it's being sped up, making his jumper look quicker than it really is. And Cousins has been shooting threes for a few seasons now. But he's nothing special in that regard. Hovers around 34-37% - I don't really expect that to change drastically this season.

Well, if you look both at him and at the people in the background, it looks like they sped up the "irrelevant" parts of the video to "fast forward" through them.

I agree on the %, but anything they can get from his 3's, and for that matter anything they get from him period at that salary, is a bonus.

He was still supposed to be "just a reclamation project no one else in UFA [technically] wanted" and "unplayable against Houston" recently, which is why this sort of whining about semantics from their fans rings so hollow:

That's why I think anyone who thinks they see a "light at the end of the tunnel" in terms of the bills for Klay, Dray, etc. coming due are missing the boat. They can get so much internal growth from their non-star and former-star players learning from the best, whether it's recovering DMC or guys like Quinn Cook/Jordan Bell.

The best thing about being out of contention for anything right now is seeing the Warriors start to implode. KD looks like he has foot out the door and maybe even klay. Karma is a bitch...lol

It would be nice if this ended the era, but like their occasional injuries, this will prove to be nothing.
