Guys are so worried about looking cool. You know what's cool? Scoring more points than the other team. How you get there should be the least of your concerns.

If they change the free throw rule to accommodate terrible free throw shooters, then they should change the rules to allow females to play in the NBA. 10 points for every made basket for females. That will even out the playing field. While they're at it, they should also accommodate any players that are 5'7" and under. 5 points for every made basket sounds fair. Also, in order to make the game even more fair for international players in countries that are not represented or have very few players, there should be a points multiplier. Say if you're a player from Sri Lanka, a points multiplier of say x20 sounds fair. So a conventional 2 pointer will count as 40 points if a Sri Lankan player makes a layup.

I don't want the rule changed but what really pisses me off is the "foul" is a player being touched! Fuck that!! LBJ gets murdered driving to the basket and there is no foul called. Someone walks up to Jordan and touches him for FT's?

I said this before in a different thread but I think the refs should have a "play on" rule like is soccer. If the team with the ball is advancing towards the goal with a legit chance to possibly score, then the ref signals "play on" and the action doesn't stop. These little touch fouls ARE NOT FOULS!! If a player really wants to foul someone away from the play with a real foul, then that maybe a flagrant.
Another situation this could help with is the break away fouls when there is a touch foul and the player would have clearly scored. "Play on" could be used or better yet, use hockey's delayed penalty rule and let the play continue until the other team gains possession and then call the foul.
This would speed up the game and make these touch fouls no longer fouls.

My 2 cents.
