The Jarvis Landry Thread: Bless 'Em

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Leads the team in drops :chuckle:

Seriously though, I genuinely think Landry was surprised by how quick the ball got to his chest compared to Taylor's passes. He'll adjust to the velocity quickly I'm guessing.
Kind of like standing in against a pitcher throwing 103 mph fastballs after facing a knuckle baller for 8 innings.

Doesn’t he also lead in targets? He also has completed 100% of his passes.

I dont see him making it past next season. That’s a lot of money for little impact.

Anyone still want to dislike this post? No way he’s still on the team once after next year. You can draft a guy on the 3rd who can do what he’s done for a fraction of the price. He is what everyone said he is.

It all depends who the other roster options are and how much money would they be saving each year. 2022 is almost a guaranteed cut if I am reading his contract right.

There's a hefty guarantee there. I think you're reading it right. It's pretty cost prohibitive to cut bait with Landry.

This is a hot take. I just don't think we have the necessary personnel to use him at his optimum position coupled with the fact that Haley was trying to use him as a deep threat half the time, which really isn't his game.

Jarvis is at his best when he is moved around the field, creating mismatches in the middle of the field. That is where a lot of his production came in Miami. He didn't start out as their #1 WR - he essentially became that because they had more weapons, which created mismatches for him, leading to a lot of volume. While he's received that usage here, more often than not he's lined up along the sideline facing the opposing team's best corner.

Landry has a unique skill set that shouldn't be overlooked - great hands, great YAC ability , and athletic as they come but we still need your prototype possession receiver - big guy with great hands and a reliable deep threat to create better opportunities for him.

Not to mention the intangibles. He leads this receiver group and regardless of his play his swagger like baker and Randall has improved the team morale as well. Also from my eye test a more than capable blocker on the outside.

Completely agree though wasn’t brought here to be the number 1 was brought here to couple with Gordon and create the same mismatches . Let’s get a true number one and see what we have.

Cap space isn't going to be enough of an issue for us this spring for us to have to cut him to save some money.

Not this spring but next. When most of his guarantees have been paid. Can’t see us paying 15M for a possession guy. Even if we have plenty of under the cap.
