Cedi is a good player. But I think both the Cavs and he needed the change. Sometimes it's just time to move on
There are many, many reasons to be critical of JBB, but Cedi's inconsistencies predated him, and will likely postdate him as well. There's been no starting caliber SF on the roster since LBJ left. The Spurs have Vassell. If Keldon Johnson continues to shoot poorly, maybe they'll try him at the 4, again, but I don't see that ever working out.

I think a change will help him. I have no vision of him becoming a great player, but hopefully he plays well enough to get himself another good NBA contract. It just seemed like he had hit a wall/grown stagnant in Cleveland. A new location and new system gives him a chance to breathe some life into his career. And it also opens up a chance for someone else to take his minutes in Cleveland. Hopefully a win for everyone.

Wish him well in SA.... in the future I hope he ends up playing with Jokic and go back to his strenghts (cutting and slashing)... he can still be a useful player at the right system and game approach
