For all who is wondering why Cedi didn't play in the Finals, He did an interview with the Turkish reporters and they asked him about it : " Why didn't you have a chance ?"

I was waiting a bit of anger on his face, but with all the joy ( classic Cedi) , he smiled and said : " They have been playing Finals for 3 years, more experienced than me, and the all veteran guys were ready for the Finals ; that's basically why I didn't play.."

Probably Coach thought very basic, he is a rookie, none Nba experience, so no room for him on the court..

That's brilliant Lue!

I mean...I don't really see it.

Igoudala is a poor shooter. Cedi has shown great improvement as a 3pt shooter and had been a pretty high volume 3pt shooter in the Euroleague. Cedi absolutely looked like an elite shooter in the the Worldcup qualifiers. 3pt line currently limits him in that regard.

Igoudala is a ridiculous athlete and an above the rim finisher. Cedi has parts of his game that are athletic(he is quick and runs pretty damn fast for his size), but he is not a high leaper and will have to rely on finesse to finish effectively.

I see Cedi as a different playmaker than Igoduala. Igoudala isn't as good as Cedi in the PnR. Igoudala is a different kind of passer. He finds cutters and he is more of passer via dribble penetration.

Now, I think you are underselling Cedi here a bit as far as not being great at anything. He looks great to me as a passer and as a PnR threat for a SG/SF.

I also predict that he is indeed going to be great as a shooter. He is also a great defender.

So, I can't really agree with that part. And even if he isn't really great at anything now, I predict that he will develop and become great at things you currently don't think he great at.

Igoudala is a poor shooter till it's a critical playoff game: god damn do I have love/hate thing for that dude.
I agree they are not exactly the same but they do share that same big body, defense first, versatile offensive type of game that can morph depending on what you need.

He would have been. He was the best player on the Cavs last night and is also playing the position most coveted in today’s game: a wing who can create and switch on defense 1-4 and even 1-5 in hyper small ball. We need to see what we have in Cedi and the ball has to be in his hands more. We know what we have in Love and he provides stability, but we’re not competing for a title, so let’s see what our potential ceiling can be with Cedi at the controls.

Now, Cedi has gotten better since last year, but he would have been perfect in a “Bron and three/four wings” lineups, lineups that have terrorized the NBA for 7 years now. I’ve written about it before-Bron and wings (even really old and/or really shitty wings works. Derrick Williams was a plus for the first time in his life with James as was Green.

LeBron James

Everything Cavs Thread: Buyout Edition

I hated Green, but last year was BY FAR his best season ever WHEN he was on court with James. We called for it on here over and over again especially when seeing how well Cedi and James played together (+6 NET together), how well Green and Cedi played (+6 NET), how well Korver and Cedi played together (+9 NET).

Might not have changed anything, but it was a fuck up.

They never did go with the all defense lineups of Hill/Green/Cedi/Lebron/Nance or TT. This was a real surprise to me as the Cavs could have thrown together a lineup that was freakishly athletic

Hedo is a very good comparison. The game doesn't seem too fast or big for him. He needs to have the ball in his hands more than last night. I could see him being a 19/8/4 guy.

Speaking of Cedi' Robin (and not post-Batman Teen Titans Dick Grayson, mind you).. I'd kind of like the Cavs to target his Turkish running mate, Furkan Korkmaz. You have to think Cedi's tired of sharing a room with John Holland all the time.

Man, I've been dreaming off it more than a year :) That Furk guy has more potential than Cedi, younger, more athletic, better on shooting, but more like a 2nd no player. They rock on our national team, when they play together. I hope somehow our path crosses.. Would be a 2 ways win-win. Because, 76ers coaches still don't give this kid a chance.. They are so busy with Fultz.. and also, If he comes to Cleveland , he would get lots of minutes and could be a star player in the league..

If Lebron thought Cedi was a Robin, he would have stayed and taken another couple of swings vs. the Warriors. He did not. He is a good role player and 6th man type that can start on a dime.

I wish the best for Furkan but I don't think he will be a star or anything close to yhat. He should be happy to see regular minutes.

Well, Lebron seems to think Lonzo Ball is a Robin, so his GMing skills are only getting worse.

I think he only says these things to the media. When, in reality, LeBron would probably say something very different were he telling us what he really thinks of Lonzo's game.

I imagine that is quite true, haha.

I also like the offensive potential of Furkan but he can't guard anyone in the NBA, his D is really bad thats why he is not playing for the 76ers.

he issue is that he is more of a microwave scorer right now. Not quite stable yet, and if he can't score he doesn't do a lot of other things on the floor. Still very young though. It might have been different on another team.

Completely disagree about Furkan having more potential. Well, at least in the NBA.
