It's not just Giannis, he's averaging 8 ppg on 29% FT the last 5 games. If he can't hit jumpers or get around 4's, what is he going to against 3's.
The coaches clearly like him just as the fans do and I would actually argue that they're giving him a pretty fair opportunity. Most teams can't afford to continue to give a guy which his shooting percentages as many minutes as he's getting or the amount of shots.

Fact of the matter is he really needs to figure out how to shoot consistently from NBA 3 pt range: he doesn't have enough of a skillset to more then a marginal roleplayer on a good team unless he can figure that out.

On a side note: Greeks and Turks don't get along traditionally so it would be interesting if Giannis wanted to put an exclamation on this one

Well Giannis isn't from Greece, Cedi is from Macedonia. Cedi is closed to being great than Giannis.

I dunno we have seen him play better. He always looks better as a 2 who shares balancing and can muscle past smaller guys. Right now he really doesn't have a strength or speed or size advantage.

His blocks steals and defense are all worse than what we have seen before. Maybe he is worse at everything after looking great at times and being very solid last year. I think it's more likely his back is hurt and playing him at pf isn't helping.

Like he isn't running the floor like he had before. He has no burst. Seems slower and more earthbound than he did to start the season.

Maybe he isn't any good, but he doesn't look like his normal self to me.

Maybe he is just wildy inconsistent, but it's weird to me he isn't doing all the little things he was before .

Just a quick info, his father is Turkish, and his mother is Bosnian, but he was born in Macedonia :) Also, yeah Giannis isn’t greek and i don’t think players would matter the ethnicity, race thing.. Because, they always play with multi-national team mates. It’s hard to be a racist when you are a basketball player.

Giannis was born in Athens, Greece and spent the first 18 years of his life there pretty sure that makes him at least half Greek :chuckle:

On the Passport yeah :D but his parents and his whole family are from Nigeria, so he has the black athleticism and we can say he is not Greek. Whereas,My boy Cedi is just a lovely white turkish guy :sprt (3):

Dude if you want to suck my dick just ask. It'll cost you. But stop annoying me.
You're so adorably predictable. No one is coronating Cedi, as @JMoneyYourHoney and you are claiming.

People get excited, and like to post about that excitement. So what?! And then we chat about it afterwards. Lots of people have said that Cedi needs to make individual improvements--and it may be right that he's just never going to ascend to that next level.

But every time you come in here and act grumpy about people being excited about players or the team, I'm going to call you out on that overly negative bullshit. If you want to be a know-it-all-troll, who doesn't want any pushback, then put me on ignore. Otherwise, stop being a thin-skinned bitch.

They both play for each other's national teams and I don't think it's "racist" to suggest a guy on the Greek basketball team (where he lived his entire childhood) would want to show up one of the main guys on their traditional rivals the Turks.

That being said Giannis is a true superstar so he may have just wanted to destroy the Cavs because he was coming off a bad game against the Pacers

Honestly I really dont care and stopped reading after the first three words.

Cry to someone else as I welcome you back to my ignore list. Or shout into the void at me.

Either way, you won't annoy me anymore.

Titletown was right though. Also my ancestors were european. So I guess im not american lol

Ok then...how many times are you going to put me on ignore? :chuckle:

Just admit it, you can't resist reading my gorgeous posts. C'mon let's be friends. :alc:

Remember you had me on ignore for like 3 minutes?

Boy was like Fat Bastard in Austin Powers, all hungry and horny for it.

I did. And then, you kept posting good shit that other people were responding to. I love to troll the trolls (the people who seem overly negative all the time), but then there's a bit of hypocrisy in what I do (because aren't I trolling too?).

I try to admit when I'm wrong (which is ALL THE TIME), and just have fun arguing about the Cavs. Sometimes those arguments get heated, but at the end of the day we're all just a bunch of people who spend way too much time thinking about tall humans who throw a leather ball through a metal hole.

It's a lot more fun if we can have passionate arguments without taking ourselves too seriously.

What can I say, I'm ahead of the curve...when I warned that trading for Carmelo would be disastrous, Korver would be a liability against GS, Derrick Williams was a ho-hum pickup and the JR contract would not age well I was dismissed as a pessimist by the board's faithful.

But I'm not exactly batting 100% either; I thought (prayed) IT could work and was optimistic for both of Altman's big trades last year.

Indeed--your track record hasn't been bad at all. I've called some things right too...like being the only person who thought we should trade IT before he ever played a minute for the Cavs. We probably could have traded him for an additional late 1st (or better) based on his post-Celtics hype. Everyone said this was stupid. But it was dead right.

But I'm not here to be right or wrong. I'm here to have fun arguing fan opinions. This is RealCavsFans not RealCavsAnalysts. There's a lot of room for sound analysis and stats, and I appreciate the members who bring that important element to the board, but I'm here to bullshit about fan stuff.

If you assume or think that, whole nation hate each other because of their ethnicity that is called racism. Believe me for us, Turks , every country has the equal standarts, there is no aversion beyond that. I dunno may be Giannis had that opinion and tried harder on Cedi but, I don’t give a chance to that :)
