Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Something inane and absurd like I just mentioned. Prank calls have always worked for me because they make me stop thinking immediately.

But as far as podcasts:

Startalk with NDT
Freakonomics
In The Dark
Lore
Serial
The Art of Manliness
Joe Rogan Experience

I didn't mention any political ones because I don't want to get into it in here.
We know you got Shapiro in the rotation.

@jking948 what did you do to lose 50 pounds? I have trouble finding exercises I can do.
My upper body functions fine, so generally I lift. Degenerative muscle means it takes a bit longer to build, and faster to lose, but it’s the best I’ve got.

Generally, though, I downloaded the MyFitnessPal app and have been religious about tracking. I’m on day 369! In regards to that, the best advice I can give is to be honest with what you eat, especially early on, and work on meeting your calorie and nutrition goals every day. If you miss some days, that’s fine, but I generally make it 5/7 days a week and hit my weekly goal. Also, I’ve started trying to eat 160 grams of protein a day.

A lot of people have that problem with wellbutrin. I, thankfully, don't have that problem.

The big problem I have is that people seem to be fine with the disability, until the first thing happens, and then it falls apart. A number of years ago I was at a party dancing with a girl that I was flirting/dating with. My kneecap popped out of socket (not uncommon for me), and then she literally shut me out for a full week, and then explained why she couldn't date me.

It's enough that I have a problem. I can't date someone unless I know them and that they wouldn't hold those positions, and by that point I am friend-zoned. I try dating apps but I kind of hate it. It definitely makes me more depressed.

I lost 50 pounds this year, and thought that would help with the confidence thing, but so far it is not working.
My suggestion is finding a really good barber and making sure you get very good cuts. Do you have a strong beard? you may look good with some facial hair. Also, go out and get some nice non athletic type of of clothes. A lot of dudes shoot themselves in the foot by not dressing nice, bad haircut, bad shoes. Women respond well to guys that know how to dress and are well groomed.

I'm not sure of your build, but you mentioned losing a lot of weight which i'm sure is better for your condition sine you put less stress on your joints? You will want to wear a lot of well fitted clothes and some nice shoes.

I think changing the way you dress and your appearance will give you more confidence and women will respond to you.

Not getting into it. If I name one person the rest will fall like dominoes and we'll have to get into that bullshit.

For anyone that has panic attacks, what does it feel like? I thought I was having a heart attack just now. It felt like a fish flopping around in my chest and it was hard to breathe. I almost fainted even. It only lasted about 30-40 seconds. You think that was a panic attack? I'm going to get everything else checked out to make sure nothing crazy is going on with my heart. But man it was scary.

Get it checked

@Adam I think you were the one who said women attempt suicide 3x as much as men even though they're 1/3 as successful.

The male VS female suicide success rate is equal in just about every single country.. Any input?

Those are the classic symptoms of a panic attack.

Or you had a small heart attack. See your GP.

Don't recall saying that. My initial thoughts would be it shows the concept is not cultural or ethnocentric but an innate response to certain situations by certain people???

Maybe it was @Hydroponic3385

The assumption was method of attempt (guys use guns). Guns aren't as prevalent in all of these countries. Ratio is still the same.

Women are more likely to stage an "attempt" without seriously harming themselves. Women are generally more likely to ask for help, or, in the case of suicide, "cry for help." Women often have access to more support than men. Hence the gap in homelessness between men and women (It can be argued women do have the best emergency currency in the form of their bodies in order to find shelter and food).

Men are not nearly as likely to ask for help, nor do many have access to help. As a consequence, they are far more likely to actually want to kill themselves. And if you actually want to die, any proper weapon will do. In nations without access to firearms, blades or poison do the trick.

Yes I said women are 3x more likely to attempt, and men 3x more likely to complete. And yes I said this is majorly due to lethality of means. I didn't say anything specifically about guns. Men tend to choose more lethal means which includes guns, hanging, etc., while women choose overdose (often not lethal doses), cutting, etc. Of course this is not black and white, but tendencies. Other factors that are likely not quite as important but still important are what Stannis referred to: capacity for suicide, access to support, willingness to seek support, etc.

In terms of capacity for suicide, I'd encourage anyone interested to research Thomas Joiner's Interpersonal-Psychological Theory of suicide. Historically, suicide research has mostly looked at individual risk factors or groups of risk factors, which results in kind of a checklist so to speak of how many risk factors are present for a person. Helpful, but not a ton. Joiner's theory (which is relatively newer) is more of an actual theory than any others before. He breaks things down into two areas: desire for suicide (which includes perceived burdensomeness and thwarted belongingness - and those two can be broken down further) and capacity for suicide (which can be broken down further).

So why do men go for different methods? How can that be biological? Kinda what I'm getting at
