The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, over and over were told how Dorne was never technically conquered. "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" that's why they're called princes and princesses, because they made a treaty with the Targaryens after resisting them. The Martells are technically a step higher than the Lords of the other houses.

I'd say its a safe bet they will be broken and will bow. The show just sorta cast them aside and we will likely never hear from them again but George isn't gonna leave a huge loose end like that.

Didn't Quentyn kind of lock them into a war for Pentos by giving his word to the Tattered Prince?

Is there anyone out here who is going to actually buy and read Fire & Blood? I'm......eh. I dunno.
I got it with an Audible credit today. Gonna check it out.

Quentyn messed up a lot of stuff...

Yeah, I imagine his arc will have some long-standing consequences. He may have turned Dorne against Dany, promised Dorne's armies to the Tattered Prince, released the dragons...dude fucked up.

This might sound dumb but I’m not going to simply because I don’t want to support Martin continuing to find any way he can to procrastinate finishing the series that made him famous. He already spent five lengthy books exhaustingly describing the history of the universe he’s created. Is it too much to ask that he just finishes the ongoing story at this point?

The one thing Martin is better at than writing is figuring out how to make money by putting off actually writing.

Also, kind of crazy to think a guy like Brandon Sanderson will probably release twenty books between A Dance With Dragons and Winds of Winter. :chuckle:

I bought it sadly.

Haven't started it yet. Just too big of a fan. Nothing I do will affect what this fat fuck does anyways. May as well give him more money.

I'm just the only one who admits it.

I actually have not bought it. Bought that World of Ice & Fire book and never made it through a quarter of it so figured this one would be a waste of money.

The one I have looks great on a fucking coffee table, though. If you're having nerds over, at least.

This is the same with me and why I haven't bought it yet. Bought WoIAF and just didn't read it. Couldn't hold my attention and I only cared about it as it related to AsOIAF. So I Just ended up looking up spoilers.

What do you mean? They're still pumping out Wild Cards books.

I’m listening to the audio book of F&B, and it’s honestly very entertaining.

There are plenty of spoilers and theories to look up online, but it’s fun to try and spot them on your own.

Lot of hints and clues of where Dany’s dragon eggs came from, what’s west of Westeros, the effects of (probably) going to Valyria (which is horrifying btw) and more, and I’m only up to King Jahaerys I.

This is what I'm most interested in and have kept myself from just reading spoilers because my girl is gonna buy it for me for Christmas.

I wanna see this. Because Euron's been. And I love Euron.

Yeah, it's pretty great. I'm legitimately surprised how much story and personality comes through, despite it being written as a Maester's history textbook.

Like, I felt a strong sense of what Aegon, Rhaenys, and Visenya were like as individuals, and find myself really loving Jahaerys and Good Queen Alysanne as characters.

It was unexpected because I thought I'd have to slog through it, and I find myself looking forward to listening to it on my commute every day.
