Jealous of you Chelsea fans on here. Your club is outstanding, and frankly, I think could compete with the Barcelonas and Reals of the world in the Champions League. Willian and Hazard are so creative on the wing, and while I hate him, Costa can straight up score.

I'm bummed we lost to you guys today, but congrats, FA Cup and Premier League should all be your's soon enough!
Your predictions came true after all ....

I wonder if American sports are going to adopt the contract style of Euro soccer with buyout clauses.

Instead of trading players for other players, you just get a boatload of cash, and all player transactions are basically done with cash.

We already have buyouts in college coaching. I wonder why the differences exist.

I guess in leagues with salary caps, massive amounts of cash are only so useful. But baseball would seem like a perfect sport to have these types of player buyout clauses.

My EPL predictions:

Top 6:

1. Chelsea (Go Blues - a hopefully healthy Hazard linking up with Morata is a crazy fun thought. Defense will still be solid. Will our lack of depth hurt us?)
2. Manchester United (Improved up the middle, matic will help a lot, Lukaku sure can score. Year 2 of Pogba should see a big improvement
3. Manchester City (Danilo, Mendy, Kompany, and Walker is one of the best defenses in the world. Need Aguero to get going to stay up here
4. Liverpool (Yes, I said it. As long as they keep Coutinho, Liverpool is gonna be back in the Champions League)
5. Arsenal (Wenger out)
6. Tottenham (Did nothing this window. Go from 2nd in a season where all the big dawgs faltered to 6 when Harry Kane decides hes only gonna score 20 goals instead of almost 30).

Nope: This is what will happen

1. Man Utd- Mourinho always wins in his second year. His history reflects that in all the leagues he has player. Plus United have strengthened very well.
2. City- A good squad just got better with the buys. They have the better squad overall, but Pep is still a manger that does not prioritize defense.
3. Chelsea- We got rid of a bunch of squad players, did not buy enough players +we have Champions League as well. Also Moratta for Costa is a lateral not upgrade.
4. Spurs- They are still a very good team.
5. Arsenal- Their squad may be marginally better, but we can expect Wenger to work his magic
6. Liverpool- They will be worst hit from the new Champions League addition. Squad is not good enough.

I think Liverpool could turn out to finish below sixth. Teams have figured out how to stop Klopp's gegenpress.

There are a few teams that I could see doing better than Liverpool. West Ham has a high risk, high reward roster. If it clicks, and if Carroll can stay healthy, they'll be a sure contender.

Everton has a Lukaku sized hole, but outside of that, I love what Koeman has done with the squad. Schneiderlin was fantastic last season, they've become good at the counterattack, and have a very disciplined defense. My big question is where are the goals going to come from?

Also, do not sleep on Leicester. If they lose Mahrez and Drinkwater, it will be bad. But they have a solid squad. I really like Iheanacho's fit up front with Vardy and Musa.

Am i the only Chelsea fan who is very worried about this season after watching the Sunday match ?

No, we lack squad depth. I look for us to add a midfielder and a wing back before the window closes... Or Van Dijk just because we can.

My concern is that Morata - while a great player - is going to need to adjust to the lack of space. His link-up play is outstanding, but you need space to take advantage, and that won't exist without Hazard.

Additionally, I don't know how you guys are replacing Matic? He provided a screen so Kante could destroy other clubs. Bakayoko is a great player, but he's also a box-to-box player, not a holding midfielder.

I think you guys will start off slow, Conte will change the formation, and you'll be fine. I just don't know if you'll beat out City, United, Tottenham, and Arsenal to repeat.

Barcelona looks like complete shit without Naymar jr. That sell was atrocious as well.
All this means is a Real Madrid 3peat and I'm fucking hyped.

It looks like the Columbus Crew are getting Modelled

Since I've moved to Columbus, I've heard a lot about the Crew and know a good number of people who go.

So it is a bit surprising they are moving to Austin.

At the same time, Columbus natives just seem to care about OSU and adopt the Cavs, whomever is better between Bengals/Browns, Indians/Reds.

So its mostly a Bengals, Cavs, Indians town right now.

Blue Jackets have a decent following too. Helps that they are winning finally.

Pretty sure Cincy has a big soccer team. I'd assume that would be a likely bet to "replace" MLS in Ohio.

From what I have heard, some are not surprised at the move cos from an attendance perspective the Crew is not in the top half. I am not surprised he wants to move and i am surprised at the choice of Austin. Didnt they have some soccer team a while back that folded and also the other Texas teams Houston and Dallas also have subpar attendance rivaling that of the Crew ?

Also as far as FC Cincinnati goes - they are in the second division not MLS. So the tickets are guaranteed to be cheaper. If they jump into MLS i am sure their ticket prices will increase as well and i dont know if that will have an impact on attendance.
