Single-payer isn't the only liberal solution, it's just the cheapest; multi-payer is another option as well, but, all in all, we're still talking about government controlled health care.

I also would put to you that our current system is a good idea in theory, but not so much in practice as, it doesn't seem to be working here either both pre- and post-Obamacare.

I would argue that socialized health care has a far far better track record around the world than US healthcare.

Almost like team sports?

I could not care less which party gets credit for it... the GOP and the Democratic Party are both corrupt organizations.. Just fucking get it done.
I definitely agree with you that the current system isn't working. Something need to be done, but I don't expect republicans to do anything to fix it. They've been "trying" for months and have nothing to show for it.

Their proposed solution would be disastrous. Health care just isn't something to be left to the market.

Trump threatened to pull FEMA out of Puerto Rico. Says they should help themselves.

It is ironic that the GOP may lose Florida in the next election because 500,000 Puerto Rican's have left the Island due to the hurricane and may never go back. Another half million may follow. They can vote the second they hit the mainland and they aren't voting Republican. They are settling heavily in FL, PA and MI.

Fucking moron.

Trump Sits, Talks Through Song Lowering the Flag at Military Base amid NFL Anthem Controversy

President Trump sat and talked through the nightly playing of "Retreat" as the American flag was lowered on a Pennsylvania Air National Guard base during his interview with Sean Hannity.

Trump, who has been criticizing NFL players who kneel through the national anthem to protest racism, seemed caught off-guard by loudspeakers playing "Retreat." The song is played every night at military bases to signal the American flag being lowered and the end of the official duty day.

Military site Task and Purpose was the first to notice Trump sitting during the song. According to Task and Purpose, uniformed service members are required to stop what they're doing and salute the flag as its lowered during the song while civilians are required to place their hand over their heart.

Trump not only does not stand or place his hand over his heart, but instead talks through the song and assumes it's being played to honor him or Hannity.

People watching the rally can be seen standing for the song in the background of Trump's interview, but Trump seems to not know what the song means.

"Are they playing that for you or for me?" Trump joked to Hannity.

"They're playing that in honor of his ratings. He's beating everybody."

Trump's ignorance of an American military tradition comes after weeks of railing against NFL players for "disrespecting the flag" for kneeling during the national anthem. The kneeling players are protesting racism and police brutality by taking a knee during the anthem played before games.

Trump last tweeted about the anthem protests Wednesday, demanding NFL players "RESPECT OUR COUNTRY."

Hopefully this means he's going to fire himself for disrespecting the flag.

The Trump administration said Thursday that it would end the Affordable Care Act's cost-sharing reduction payments designed to help low-income Americans get health care. Not paying the subsidies, health care experts have warned, could send the health insurance exchanges into turmoil.

The payments, which started under the Obama administration, had been continued by President Trump, despite his strong opposition to the ACA. But the subsidies had never been funded by Congress, and the White House on Thursday said since there was no appropriation for it, "the Government cannot lawfully make the cost-sharing reduction payments."

"The bailout of insurance companies through these unlawful payments is yet another example of how the previous administration abused taxpayer dollars and skirted the law to prop up a broken system," the White House said in a statement. "Congress needs to repeal and replace the disastrous Obamacare law and provide real relief to the American people."

The decision ends speculation about whether the Trump administration would continue making the monthly payments to insurers. That money particularly helps people earning between 100 percent and 250 percent of the poverty level pay for the insurance and health care they get through the exchanges set up by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

Ending the payments could cause premiums to spike, push insurers out of the marketplace, and even cost the government $2.3 billion more than it would otherwise spend, according to one analysis.

It was not clear when the payments, known as CSRs, would end.

The news was not received well by Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill. In a joint statement, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called the move "a spiteful act of vast, pointless sabotage."

If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!

    9:27 AM - Jul 29, 2017

"Sadly, instead of working to lower health costs for Americans, it seems President Trump will singlehandedly hike Americans' health premiums," the leaders said in a statement. "Make no mistake about it, Trump will try to blame the Affordable Care Act, but this will fall on his back and he will pay the price for it."

The CSRs are a key part of keeping Obamacare working, but they have been threatened since 2014. That's when House Republicans filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration, arguing that the CSRs are unconstitutional because Congress had not appropriated the money — rather, the administration was paying the money on its own.

If these guys spent as much time trying to solve problems as they did being vindictive assholes just for the sake of being vindictive assholes, they could have achieved world peace by now.

This is basically what Q-Tip was advocating, if I'm not mistaken. Hurt people until you get the political traction to actually make a change.

This is one of the reasons I like Kasich even though I disagree with him on most policies. He wasn't willing to turn down money (Medicaid Expansion) to help people for political points.

That Retreat thing... I knew what it was from Boy Scouts but I could see someone not knowing. However, it just goes to show his lack of awareness and ego that he had to make it about ratings and gloating about himself through it while people in the audience tried to show respect. He's such an ass. Don't know how there are so many Christians and Conservatives that have convinced themselves he's their guy.
