The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

The whole quote is “he knew what he was signing up for but when this happens it still hurts” you won’t hear that from the media though. Even the congresswoman slipped the part in about it hurting but the media won’t include it.

THE MEDIA IS THE REASON YOU KNOW THE FULL QUOTE SO STOP LYING.

What @Huber. said this morning would make sense. Something like "your husband knew what he was signing up for but he still had the courage to do it" to talk about his bravery to try and make the wife feel better. With how Trump talks though I could see it coming out as insensitive and cruel sounding.

Except he never said it... according to Trump but not the congress women (who's not a known pathological liar) or the grieving wife (come on).

So is this where I show proof that liberal outlets reported the whole quote and then you say they aren't part of the liberal media or something? Or try to backtrack and say you just meant they won't focus on the full quote?

If they showed the whole quote then they’re stupid for taking it out of context

A normal person would apologize and clarify, not call them liars.

No moral or decent person would react the way Trump has.

Yeah, all he would have had to say is, "I'm sorry. I chose my words poorly." Then clarify what he meant and it's, as Huber is fond of saying, a nothing-burger. Instead, he just lies about it for no reason and makes everything worse. And that sentence could basically sum up the Trump presidency.

Argue all you want, but there is no universe where Trump has had a single successful week as a politician. Go deep on detail, go to the granular, debate and quibble out of sport alone - both sides - if that's how you get your jollies.

But reality is fail after fail after fail on things that a middle of the road milk toast dweeb like Romney would have fucking NAILED, let alone an actual inspiring politician whom actually understands our government.

That's how it is and how it will be regardless of what you guys want to talk about with an overwhelming readership of like thirty people.

Except for that one when he was elected President of the United States.

I don't post in the political threads unless I get a bunch of PMs from members. That said, always remember that the vote of the majority is the law of the land and the basis of democracy... bit also a logical fallacy and Trump has become the case and point.

And if you dislike Wikipedia as a source - intelligent people should - I can refer you to a number of texts on logic. Goodnight, and go Cavs. That's actually why we are all here, after all.

One thing that I hope is a one term only thing(yes, this is only going 1 term) is Presidents tweeting. Official statements, links to press releases or videos of full speeches, sure. But using Twitter and Social media as a daily/hourly way of waging a 24/7/365 re-election campaign and one man spin? I don't ever want to see that again. From Trump. From traditional Republican. From a centrist Republican. From a centrist Democrat. From a traditional Democrat. From an independent. It's sheer madness and below the office of presidency to have that be a daily part of how presidential politics and influence is wielded.

Yeah, it's just baffling to me that Trump doesn't have someone between him and his Twitter account at all times. Granted, I know he doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself, so he doesn't really give a shit if he offends people (he only cares when they fire back, as then it's about him), but it just makes him and our country look like a bunch of fucking buffoons every time he fires off another idiotic 140 characters.

Just like most athletes and celebrities, a president should have someone in charge of their social media accounts who makes sure they don't post dumb shit.
