The Walking Dead

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
any updates on when they plan to end this series ?

From what I last read, they have things firmly planned out through 10 seasons and solid ideas of what season 11 and 12 would look like.

Even though it lost quite a few viewers this season, it still has an absurd amount of viewership that there is no way AMC will cancel it for business reasons.

Walking Dead will basically go until viewers just completely stop watching or someone like Andrew Lincoln decides to do something else in his life.

So at this point I'd say 12 seasons.

I think average fans think the show is still great. I made a comment on FB that this was the end of a slow, weak season and got responses like, "OMG...you're crazy! This was the best! The tiger was awesome!"

I guess most people are easily amused and entertained.

This is true, but at the same time I also see where they're coming from. I don't critique The Walking Dead like I'm a critic. I think the seasons need to be shortened, but I still enjoy the show. Sure, this season was pretty weak, even from a casual viewer like myself, but if you're looking for the next Mad Men or even Game of Thrones, you're going to think The Walking Dead is horrible and rightfully so in that situation.

Yes the Average fan is much more excited the show than below average fans.

Why would you be looking for Walking to "become" the next Game of Thrones or Mad men.. they are completely different shows.

When I watch walking dead I am looking for a soap opera with zombies. that is what the show has established for itself.
as far as mad men. I really don't care for the show. it always seemed a bit pretentious for my taste. but the show pretentiousness is why other people watch it.

Well I don't think he actually believes that..

Also, I could be wrong, but I am thinking he means if the casual viewer wants to follow The Walking Dead like the cult following GoT has, they will be disappointed. Even during the usually "slow, middle episodes" of GoT, I am still like, "FUCK, IS IT NEXT SUNDAY YET?"

When the Walking Dead is over, I am deciding if I should get up and poop or hold it until morning.

That's at least how I took it from his post, as more of a "cult following" type of show from every type of viewer: book readers viewers, re-watch seasons viewers, one-time viewers, and new viewers.

I meant those shows in terms of quality dude....

Walking is well written has quality actors and a decent budget..

If you guys don't like the show. don't watch it.
people enjoyed the tiger. it was right out of the comic book.
People enjoyed rooting for zombie Sasha.
some people like the background episodes
some people just watch it because their friends watch it.

It just getting more nd more difficult to come on here and talk about the show because 4 or 5 guys like to bash it.

15 million people watched the season finale...lowest since season 2.

what other shows had 15 million viewers?

heck the ailing show managed to thwart off Duke vs Carolina with 10 million viewers almost double what that game drew.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel. It is not a great show, and maybe guys who are huge fans of the comic book hate it because it doesn't measure up in their eyes. It's always easy to nitpick. But I don't read comic books, so IDGAF.

I like it. To the extent I don't like an episode, it's usually "I wish that episode was better" not "That really sucked compared to something else I might have watched." I also don't understand the bashing. It would be like if someone started a thread on the Kardashians. The tiny bit of that show I've seen makes me want to yank out my eyeballs. But I can't imagine showing up in the Kardashians thread regularly just to tell everyone else it sucked. I mean, why bother?

Youre preaching to the choir, I like the show. I just dont think it's in the same breath of some of the award winning tv shows we've seen recently.

Season 7 was the worst season of the show and it still blows the door off of a lot of what's on television these days.

I think we need 12-13 episode seasons. Too much filler in the last two seasons (that Tara/Heath episode with Oceanside, WTF).

Anyways, Season 8 and All-Out War should be fantastic. Two of the biggest things I've looked forward to on this show was No Way Out (which was fantastic) and All Out War, which I assume will be fantastic.

I just hope they don't draw it out and make the war take all season. It could easily be done by the midseason finale and then you could do the time jump for when it picks back up.

Season 8 starting up in a month or so. Saw the recent Talking Dead episode where they preview the season...looks like all action and war - and should be a great one. I've been wavering a bit, but am pot committed. Too many side stories to pass up. Don't think disappointment is possible.

Back on the train again...

Pretty good episode besides those weird flash forward scenes. Maggie is hiding her baby bump pretty well.
