The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is second in my Game of all time behind Suikoden 2, I did a new play through and I always get stuck at the same freaking part like I never played it before.

Xenogears ... it's honestly better than both of these games if you're into JRPGs. It's easily the best JRPG ever made; IMHO.

It's on PSN AFAIK, but there's always the ISO that can be downloaded and emulated flawlessly; hell it can even be played on a PSP or an Android phone.

I am thinking of getting a PSP for the old school RPGs actually. So I might try the emulation version and then if I like it get a real version. I never played that game somehow, That and Skies of Arcadia I need to try out.

Decided to go on another one of those kicks where I try to finish games in my ever-growing Steam library. On deck is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. The New Order was absolutely fantastic in just about every way, and this is more of the same. It's basically two DLC campaigns rolled into one stand-alone release. The first act revolves around escaping Castle Wolfenstein and the second, which I just started, involves discovering exactly what kind of occult secrets the Nazis are digging up in the town of Wulfburg.

Basically, if you played The New Order and rightfully thought it was great, this is basically the same thing. It's got awesome gun play, fun weapons, surprisingly enjoyable stealth (that, since this is at heart an action game, isn't broken the moment you're discovered), and a fun throwback Wolfenstein 3D level hidden in each in-game level.

I'm a little over halfway done with the game and it's a lot of fun. Definitely recommended, especially if you can nab it on a Steam sale.

i modded my first gen PSP a year or two ago and it was super easy, you can also get a micro SD to ProDuo converter for cheap storage. I would look into a PSP Go if you want it to be portable.

man, the PSP was the fucking shit, I cannot believe how miserable the Vita has become (i mean i can with smartphones as powerful as they are, and the 3DS having a stranglehold on handheld market).

Back in the day (like 8th grade) my friends and I would ad-hoc GTA and SOCOM on PSP, chasing each other around liberty city was so much fun

Both Portal games are absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, they are just great games, both in design and writing. The first one was good, but I thought the second was just brilliant. It's got probably the best writing of any game I've played, and the voice acting is fantastic.

Valve in general just has great writers. Their Team Fortress 2 comics are hilarious, as are the various random lines of dialogue the characters spout in the game.

I downloaded the demo for Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun on Steam and holy shit this game is fun. It's an old-school stealth strategy game in the Commandos style. It takes place in feudal Japan. The intro level has you controlling a ninja whose mission is to destroy the gates of a fortified compound, and he finds himself working with a samurai from the attacking force (the same side as his employer) and another character as well. Some of the puzzles you need to solve to get through the tougher areas are really tricky and clever. I've only played one level, but it seems like an extremely well-designed game. You can set up your various characters to all do one move on your command, which lets you pick off multiple enemies at once, and each character has various useful skills to keep things interesting.

I definitely plan on buying it in the very near future.

If you've got Steam, check out the free demo. Definitely worth it and the game has been getting glowing reviews from its players.

Anybody else feel like there is just too much to do in Witcher 3? Like, the main quest has a super urgent, race against time, sort of feel to it but then they also give you 1000 side quests. I want to find Ciri, but I also want to do these quests before I'm way over-leveled for them. I always try to do every quest that I can in RPGs, but I now find myself over-leveled for everything that I'm doing. Currently at level 22, the quest I'm at in the main quest is a recommended level 19, and I'm still doing quests with recommended level of like 15 or less (and finding more of them at the same time).

Also, soooo many "?"s on the map that I don't know are even worth going to at my current level, like the "treasures" in the waters around Skellige that was just a bunch of garbage worse than what I already owned.

Well, I wouldn't say there's "too much" as it mostly isn't mandatory, but it can be overwhelming. Once I did a few dozen "?" on the map I realized I'd rather just do the main quest- so I'd hit a ? if I came upon it but wouldn't go out of my way. I probably missed out on some stuff, but I still put in 70+ hours and intend to go back for more eventually.

Yeah, I think that's what I'm gonna start doing. Still want to do the side quests and witcher contracts though. I'm currently at 60 hours and I think I'm around the halfway point in the main quest.
