The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's crazy to me why anyone would get an Xbox. Even if the X plays third party games better, there are very few exclusives (Ori is the only one I would care about) that make it worth it. If I had extra money I would grab a PS4 Slim for third party and the many exclusives (I think they deserve more shit for how slow they've been to trickle them out though) that I would love to dive into, but for now I'm just happy I grabbed a Switch when I did because Mario Odyssey looks like an LSD induced fever dream.
The fact that it plays 4K blu ray is a huge selling point for people in the market for one. It's a pretty good value when you compare it to the other 4k players out there.

That's true, but the S does 4k blu ray too. I guess my point is that from a feature standpoint Microsoft is killing it as both of their systems seem to be top notch and really consumer focused, but at the end of the day most gamers will buy a system for great games and I don't think Microsoft presents a very compelling argument in that area.

It makes me sad because the Xbox dashboard is so much cleaner and nicer than PlayStation, and the controller's aren't even close to comparable (Xbox destroys them here).

I have both, and would much rather play games on the XB1. However, they just haven't delivered games worthwhile in a long, long time.

Yep, PS4's controller is blah. Hoping I get used to it. My PS4 just arrived but I'm flying to Cleveland tomorrow, so, won't be able to play really. If you're saying the Xbox dash is better too, I shudder to see PS4's.

That said this is how I feel too. I'd rather play on Xbox, but PS4 has the games, unfortunately.

I prefer the dualshock 4. I like the way it feels in my hands and I think the d-pad is vastly superior. Also, I don't like the way the the r1 and l1 feel on the xbox one controller. Both are good controllers, but personally I like the dualshock 4 more.

Also, every exclusive is finding it's way on PC. Forza, gears of war 4 and the next halo... All on pc through windows store. I'm extremely happy with Microsoft's renewed focus on the platform that got them started.

The new Halo is on PC?

Are these games cross platform, like you play people on PC from your xbox? Or is just you own the game, you could play it on either?

Yes, gears of war 4 and forza have cross play. I've been wanting to play horde mode here with any xboxers.

If online, wouldnt the PC guys just obliterate the console guys?
Horde mode is pve. They had separate competitive pvp modes. As far as I know it's all integrated now. I heard that it's mostly close quarter combat with tons of cover, so it's not too bad of a disadvantage. Sniping and mid range favors pc. I'm not sure how prevalent either is in pvp.

Those that know how to play, probably.

You're definitely at a disadvantage with a controller... But most people aren't very good either way. FWIW, I played Halo 2 at a very high level.

Don't make me dig out the Xbox...:chuckle:

J/k, I'm entertaining to watch, but my skills are slightly above average.
