The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Beat Wolfenstein tonight. Fun ass game. Looking forward to the next one.

Have you not played the original (and I mean the one that came out like two years ago, not the original Wolfenstein obviously)? I can't recall. If not, you should go back and give it a shot because it was fucking awesome too.

The Old Blood (the DLC for the previous game) was great too.

No I hadnt played one since Return, whenever that was. Long time ago. I'll check out New Order at some point when my gaming backlog dries up.

Yeah, The New Order and The Old Blood are both absolutely worth playing, especially if you liked the new one.

Return was the last good one prior to New Order. That remake from five or six years ago was fucking awful.

Watching The Last Jedi makes me want to play a Star Wars game. Battlefront 2 is on sale right now, but I'm still thinking about holding off until it drops more. Never really played SWTOR or KOTOR. Although they should remaster them or make a new one.

I got the original BF and BFII on PS2. I might have to go that route :chuckle: Man, they should make a next gen open world game (that isn't EA). And that could also be multiplayer. That would be epic.

Yeah, Return was good. I kind of wish there was more paranormal shit in these new ones like Return had. The robots and futuristic Nazi tech is badass but when I think Wolfenstein I think of all the crazy enemies from back in the day.

Kotor 1 and 2 are up there with the Thrawn trilogy as some of the best stories ever made in the SW universe. The gameplay will feel very dated now, but the stories will hold up extremely well, they're pretty ageless.

Speaking of Battlefront II, is the progression and microtransactions and unlocks and etc still really fucked up? The game looks great and I'm interested but not if I'm expected to be a slave to unlock the characters

It's not. You have to unlock like 6 character I think and it's not unreasonable. I have probably 15 hours and I have all of them...and I'm usually in the bottom 3rd of matches.

When you play they have a ton of challenges for mode types, kills, heroes and classes. Just do those and you'll be fine. Just use your credits on just the characters. While playing you'll get a ton of parts and milestone crates that you can use to unlock and improve the classes you want.

Also do the story (Maybe 4 hrs) to get like 5k credits. It isn't the money grab it was initially set out to be nor is the grind that bad.

So the single player campaign is only like4 hours?

Ya. Its very short. Granted they just added to it with this weeks free dlc update, but I cant imagine anything extensive. I believe the plan is to keep adding small parts with each update. They just dropped one which had Finn & Phasma for online. I know there is another one coming up with Grevious & Kenobi as well.

They do have arcade as well which is (guessing here) 20 missions which 3 difficulty levels.

All of which give you credits which can then be used on the locked characters.

I did end up getting Battlefront 2 for my birthday. Haven't played much yet but it feels quite a bit different from Battlefront.

I also did end up getting a raspberry pi 3/retropie set up. It's quite amazing. So many games to discover.

Just finished Hearts of Stone on Witcher 3.

Every time I pick up the controller to play this game, it reinforces my thought that this is the greatest video game ever made. 2 and a half years later, playing the DLCs, that notion simply strengthens. Such an incredible experience.

Might have to take a break before doing Blood and Wine. This was pretty heavy.

Finished the South Park sequel last night. The ending was just...very underwhelming. The final fight was not even remotely difficult and the game just kind of ended very suddenly. It definitely wasn't as good as the first game, which I thought was constantly throwing new things at you and was generally funny the entire way through. This one had a lot of the humor fall flat and it didn't feel nearly as varied as the first either. I feel like there were really only a couple of unique areas outside of the common city areas that the two games share, whereas the first game had a ton of them.

There's a post-credits scene that was kind of amusing, I guess, but the actual ending wasn't good at all.

Instead of working, I farmed Witcher 3 all morning and got all my gear up to Mastercrafted. Ready for Blood and Wine, whenever I do decide to play it.

Curious, anyone played Warhammer Vermintide? Picked up for free on Xbox Live and dicked around for a few minutes before I had to log off, seems kinda fun. Might be a blast with friends. Saw a sequel is coming out, count me in for that.
