The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
bought a switch a few months back. Zelda and Stardew Valley have their hooks in me so deep. The amount of detail in zelda is insane.
Stardew Valley that good huh? My buddy recommended it too

Just found out that Metal Gear Survive comes out this month. I'm really conflicted. It seems fun and it's MGS, but it's the first game without Kojima. Am I even allowed to want this??

If it's fun why not? Also, there was an NES metal gear game called Snakes Revenge that was done without Kojima.

This is true, however Kojima was still involved with the company and went on to create the true sequel, as there was clearly still a relationship there. This new game is taking the Fox engine that he helped create and just running with a non-canon story (taking place right before Phantom Pain). It's a moral conundrum because I don't like the idea of a company hijacking and profiting off of someone else's work.

I think I just convinced myself that I'm going to pass.

I will also pass. I loved MGS5 for the story. This game seems like its all about the gameplay and no story. I'll pass too.

Seems weird to even have a Metal Gear Solid game that is light on story. My main issue with the fifth game was that there were so few cut-scenes relative to the previous games, and the series has always been defined by awesome cut-scenes. Now, I do agree that most of the previous games had a tendency to go overboard with the cut-scenes, but rather than find a compromise somewhere in the middle they basically just removed them all and only had a handful.

I also think Kiefer must have been getting paid by the line, as it's the only thing that really explains why Boss just randomly stopped talking constantly about anything and everything.

Anyone play "Squad"? Its been out probably a couple years. Its on sale for $20 in Steam. Military FPS.

Might have had something to do with the twist at the end.

The whole ending seemed to reveal the game was really a farewell to the gamers, with them actually being Boss- Real Boss' monologue on the tape to Fake Boss (the medic- ie, you, throughout the game) really seemed directed at the fans. I thought maybe I was alone but I googled this after I played it and seems others had this thought as well.

Gameplay wise MGS5 was the best MGS game, bar none. Story wise, not so much. I think the series has run its course. Survival is just a spinoff game, doesn't really look story oriented or anything.

Anyone playing Monster Hunter World? It's incredible fun, specially with friends. I'm not sure if I've ever had so much fun grinding for better loot.

How does it compare to a game like Destiny in fun and depth?

Way, way way more content. There are a bunch of videos comparing it to Destiny on YouTube if you're interested in the game. But it's really entertaining to grind solo, and an absolute blast co-op with friends.

Well, I just finished The Last of Us.

One of the more intense and emotional endings to a video game. Definitely popped into my Top 10 games of all time. Don't know what else to say other than this was an absolute pleasure to play.
