The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was dicking around trying some MMOs since WoW is kinda lame at the moment.

Tried Guild Wars 2. Meh. Just really don't dig the visuals in that game. Currently trying Elder Scrolls Online. Get that ES fix since 6 is like 5 years away.

Halo Infinite actually sounds good. Apparently it's a "spiritual reboot" sequel which hopefully means they're moving on from the nonsense that was Halo 4 and 5.

Haven't touched Halo since Reach, mostly because I got a PS4 and not an XBONE in the new console generation. Sounds like I haven't missed much, but the new Halo does look interesting.

Halo 2 and 3 used to be the shit back in the day.

4 was meh at best and I didn’t bother touching 5 because it was obvious it would be a travesty.

Man... 4 was my favorite story of all of them.

Dove much deeper into the Chief than before and the Didact was the coolest villain yet.

I'm kind of surprised that Halo is even still a thing. Never thought it was that good to begin with. Like, it was a competent shooter, and it was pretty much the first competent shooter on consoles, but there were already a billion better PC shooters when Halo came out.

I used to think this too but going back playing MCC, they really are stellar shooters. Half Life might top it for me but I’m struggling to think of any more.

Half-Life, Doom, Quake are all legendary PC shooters that pre-date Halo:CE.

But I never had as much fun playing any of those as I did playing Halo, in-person, with my friends. Even playing online, or at a LAN party... there was just something about Halo that was so much fun.

And yes, I'm considering Counter-Strike under the Half-Life title.

Yeah, Halo 1 was great at LAN parties.

Thought the second and third games both kinda sucked though. Especially the single-player. Halo 2 had a terrible campaign.

Halo 2 had a more disappointing ending than Game of Thrones.

I played through Halo 3's campaign to get the achievements and such, so I had to go through it multiple times. Had no interest in touching Halo 2's after the first time I played it over a decade ago. Never will even look at it again.

Thought 1 and 3 had great campaigns, while 2 and 3 had great multiplayers.

Also really enjoyed Reach, looking forward to playing that again once its released on MCC.

Gears was the game I loved back in that time period (it sucks now though) but I always liked Halo.

Gears and Halo were both railroaded by the studios that replaced the original ones.

I am very optimistic about Infinite, though.

Just got an Xbox for the first time, just so I can finally play NBA 2k with him. Which I took like a 2 year break from 2k but it would be better playing with someone. I did just get 2k19 on sale though for Ps4.
