Time for a Rudy Gay safari?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think Rudy Gay would've signed here anyway, Players like him or Joe Johnson don't want the pressure of playing with LeBron and the expectations of winning a championship, they just wanna relax and chill on shitty team.

What? who cares we won a tittle anything else is a plus, lets not get greedy.

Another failed safari...shocker.

I somehow missed this news... thanks man. I heard he was still on the block somewhere so I might have gotten my stuff wrong. Looking at both Sac and Minny though Collison and Muhammed both stand out as real targets. Muhammed has some good defense with a 40% three point percentage and he lacks PFs and Turnovers. Collison is having a very good offensive year and is churning out 6 assists per game and would be a huge improvement at back up PG I do think he is poor on defense but so was Mo Williams so either one I would like. Shabazz can run the PG to I was told but some random Minny fan and not sure how true that is.
I'd love to get Shabazz and Collison or make it just between Minny & Cavs. Shabazz & Rubio for Shump & hmm gets tricky here because of saleries? Actually, Collison might be a better fit over Rubio?

Would still love to get tucker.. Is tpe enough for him? Then trade shump+parts for a decent playmaker..

Man, gotta suck. It looked like this was the year he was finally going to get a good contract and probably the last good contract of his career. Hopefully he recovers soon.

Let the (insert likely unattainable wing/forward hybrid player name) safari begin!

Honestly, as soon as we traded away Mo, i wanted nothing to do with Gay. If you can't have Mo Gay Love, what's the point?

Gay Love is still pretty good. It's not my thing, but it makes people happy so who am I to get in the way of it?

I feel bad for Rudy. His scoring was slightly up and he would have been due for a hefty contract, probably the last of his career. He might be a good RJ replacement next season for a one or two year contract.

I'd turn my attention to Denver and Portland, where each team has a log-jam at SF/PF.

Denver has Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari. Both good offensive players, although I'd argue Wilson fits our style better. Wilson also provides better defense than Danilo. The one thing Galinari provides is ISO scoring which can be extremly helpful in playoff basketball when shots are tough to come by. Either guy would make the Cavs significantly better.

Portland has Al-farouq Aminu and Maurice Harkless. Both defensive minded guys who would help our perimeter defense tremendously. Both guys can get out and run, but neither are great shooters. The athleticism you'd be able to add next to LeBron and also have guys who can give LeBron a few minutes on bench would be huge. Harkless and Aminu are both good enough defenders to also take a lot of that load off LeBron against Golden State. Portland has really struggled this year, and part of that may be spacing. They really like Jake Layman and have tried at times to find him spot minutes. Moving one of Harkless or Aminu accomplishes that.

It's unfortunate Pat Riley is out of play, because James Johnson has had a huge resurgence. He'd be a great addition the way he has been playing.

Obviously PJ Tucker is in play.

With Gay's injury, I wonder if Sacramento starts unloading.....Omri Casspi would be an interesting addition.

I believe Gay has a player's option, and given the nature of his injury (from what we know so far) I will be surprised if he opts out.

Bad luck for Gay. I wish him well.

He has a player option for $14,263,566 for next year.

This injury saved RCF from itself. Korver is the wing scorer with size they needed. Gay's impact on the defensive end, even with all that length, has always been suspect. I don't really think Gay was the answer to what the team needed, I'm hopeful they can focus in on some playmaking.

I feel bad for Rudy, really do.

Thankfully for us, it happened before we the theoretically landed him and paid him $20+ million a year.
