Time for a Rudy Gay safari?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When I talked to a guy who works in relation to the Thunder after the Lauvergne trade he informed me that the Thunder love Gay and would be willing to make Kanter a centerpiece of a deal to get him. Take that for what it's worth.

Yep.. that makes a ton of sense, and I've considered for awhile the possibility that the Thunder would look to go after Rudy Gay.

It's one guy, to be fair, so I can't say I've confirmed it. But I do trust him. He told me ahead of time-out the Thunder securing another big man and the Westbrook re-sign.

Gay would give the Thunder a much more complete lineup.

PG: Russ/Payne
SG: Oladipo/Morrow
SF: Gay/Roberson
PF: Ilyasova/Sabonis
C: Adams/Lauvergne

That's not a championship-winning ten-man rotation, at least not yet, but it definitely will contend for a top-four seed in the West. Gay gives them much needed scoring and ball-handling when Russ sits.

EDIT: It also leaves them free to target Blake Griffin and other big names in 2017.

Damn lol don't the Kings have enough Centers already :chuckle:
Right, there is no certainty the Kings take the deal. My bet is it would need to wait until the Kings decide to trade Boogie. And there is no guarantee they do that.

I do think the Thunder make a ton of sense for Gay, more than us even. I think he would be nice in Cleveland, but OKC just seems like it makes too much sense to not happen.

I think calling it a parade may be more appropriate- since e are now a city that does parades. After seasons.

Don't discount Washington, either. John Wall showing up to the Redskins game in a Cowboys jersey has DC fans and media completely up in arms. I would not be surprised if they try to move Wall, and somehow, end up with Gay in return.

That I dont see. Wall has far more value than Gay on a 1 year contract, or even straight up. There would have to be a ton of other pieces. I could see wall maybe in a Boogie trade, but not a Gay trade. I think we are over valuing Gay a bit there.

Awesome, I have my shirt ready for the parade.

- Let me tell you something, Gawd Damnit-- I watched my team win a championship without Rudy Gay....I don't need Rudy Gay....

- You know who I don't want on my team ? .... Oh yea Rudy Gay....

- You know who I trust ? LeBron James.... You know who I would never trust ? Rudy Gay.... If my "answer" to Kevin Durant is Rudy Gay, then I'm screwed.....

- In fact, do I feel I would ever need Rudy Gay right now to win a championship in 2017 ???? Where's the NO button ??? NOOOOOOOOOO

-Rudy Gay can continue to be the Jalen Rose of this era and help teams not win a damn thing..... This little light skinned diet Vince Carter reject can wallow away anywhere but near my World Champions.....

But that's just how I feel

Imma just leave this here as a reminder about how much seasons change to year.

We should be focused on the challenges of 2016-17 not only the successes of 2015-16.

And with that said, we didn't beat the Warriors 4-1, we beat them 4-3, coming back from a 3-1 deficit. Our teams were evenly matched... and they added Kevin Durant, who solves a great deal of their playoff offensive issues.

Sorry guys; but yea, if we hope to repeat, I do think we need another wing, and in the worst way.

And that isn't to say I think we can get Rudy Gay, but rather that I wouldn't hold my nose up to the idea of such a trade if all it would cost us is Iman Shumpert and pieces/parts.

It wouldn't be in a direct trade. Sacramento wants Wall, they have a lot of draft pics, and they want to get rid of Gay.

I'm only speculating here, though. Only sources for me are Thunder and Pelicans, right now, anyways.

NOPE.... If I'm going to Sac I'm going to go get me a mismatch and not someone who doesn't provide much.... Not matching up wings.... Rather attack a weakness than make a trade and continue to be inferior....

Y'all crazy

gay-love combo would be nice.. but id rather have ariza.. can the cavs get him?
