Trade Deadline - Feb 8 at 3:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cuban said they'll only take on salary like that for picks and/or young players.

Dallas has a ton of cap room. I like the idea of trading them Tristan + Clev 1st and then getting back a 16M TPE that we could then use to shop.

Then in a separate trade we could absorb Noel into our Kyrie Irving TPE.

As for your Portland deal, not sure why they would ever do that. I'd rather swap Kevin Love for CJ straight-up.

My idea for Portland was enticing them with the Brooklyn pick and IT. I thought maybe that would be enough. Dame has been vocal about wanting to win and being disrespected. He would be unstoppable next to LBJ.

Imagine having traded Kyrie/Love for CJ and .5 years of IT.

Kyrie for Bledsoe/PG
Kevin Love for CJ

Bledsoe
CJ
PG
LeBron
TT

This would be an elite balance of offense and defense. Upgrade still needed at center considering how bad TT has been.

Are we allowed to trade the other half of the 2019 protected first that we sent to Atlanta for Korver? I believe we traded Atlanta 15-30 could we trade 1-15? Or whatever it was?

Yeah, we could remove the protection on the pick. I wouldn't, because we are probably looking at a 20-25 win team next year. But we could.

Could we only do that with Atlanta? Or can we trade it elsewhere?

That's terrible. How do you play Kemba Walker (6'1") as a SG alongside IT? Why do we give up the Brooklyn 1st and take on the worst contract in the trade? Why would anybody ever want MCW?

I agree 100%. I just posted what Bleacher Report did.

I’d take Kemba but absolutely not with IT haha

I like the idea that has been batted around recently, of a trade based around:

Cavs Get: Favors
Bulls Get: TT (+ Cavs 1st round pick most likely)
Jazz Get: Mirotic

There will be picks involved and such (that GMs will negotiate), but even without it, the trade structurally makes sense for every team.

The Jazz assume that Favors will leave at the end of the year. They won't try to resign him because he doesn't fit at all alongside Gobert, who is the future of their franchise. They won't have Bird rights on Mirotic, but with Favors gone and Joe Johnson off their books, they might be able to do it with Cap space. Either way, they are still in vague contention for the playoffs this year (when Gobert is back), and Mirotic is basically a perfect fit alongside what they have.

The Bulls assume that Mirotic wants to leave (he definitely does). TT is a good fit alongside Markannen in the future, and they are both relatively young. The Bulls don't care about winning this year - and so they are probably trying to shop Lopez off for a 1st in a separate trade. In real terms, the negative value of the TT contract probably means the Bulls get a 1st round pick from the Cavs here. Instead of the first round pick, you could also imagine the Bulls getting Zizic or Cedi. You could also imagine them taking a player like Shumpert instead, with the rest of the trade remaining similar.

The Cavs get Favors, who is a decent rim protector and less of a ball stopper than TT. They save ~$20M this year on the deal, and can try to resign Favors to a long term deal (they will have bird rights) at the end of the season.

Fuck Favors, give me Lopez. I don't want a "decent rim protector", I finally want a guy who will establish a tone in the middle and lay some wood. We can probably also steal Lopez from the Bulls in exchange for Shump + a sweetner.

Try to pawn JR, TT and our 1st on a team for an SG (Dallas w/Wes Matthews makes the most sense) and let's fuckin' ride.
