Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pelicans are gaining some steam to get Millsap. That would be a great pick-up by them. Millsap isn't good enough to be the No 1 option but he would be a very good complimentary player to have alongside someone like AD. Hield and Jrue is a solid back-court as well.

I would love anyone but the Celtics or Raptors to get Millsap. And I would especially love a West team getting him.

Eh... I think Davis would be better off leaving. Millsap will do nothing to help them in the future to get anywhere. If it does happen that will be... No one will care. Davis is rotting there and no one is talking about him and he is still a top talent.

AD recently signed a long term contract. So, I doubt he is leaving at least for the next 3-4 years. Pelicans have till then to surround AD with good players so that they do well.

They aren't going to become contenders all of a sudden but they need to become a team who are play regularly in playoffs first. Thats the first and most important step for them. Getting Millsap would help them achieve that.

We're definitely getting a PG from somewhere - LBJ has explicitly mentioned it twice and that tends to get things done:

As a wish list:

Dragic/Rubio/Knight - They are all on the block, but I don't think we have the salary/ammo to get any of them?
Deron Williams (TPE?, though we'd need to send salary out somewhere)
Rajon Rondo (buy-out only?)
Jarrett Jack
Norris Cole
Ty Lawson?

Those seem like the only reasonable options to me. I'd really love Deron Williams if we could somehow make the salaries work out so we're not paying millions in tax -- big body who would be a perfect defender against Livingston.

Deron Williams is the Dwight Howard of point guards. But, if LBJ and Lue think they can work with his disruptive ego, then I'm cool with it.

I haven't heard a peep of negative press about him in Dallas. He seems to have also taken a smaller roll (15-17 shot attempts in NJ to around 11-12 shot attempts in Dallas).

I just don't know who else we can grab with any ability to actually play a few meaningful minutes in the playoffs.

They'd have to trade their lottery pick. Which would be dumb. What an awful organization. Millsap doesn't move the needle at all.

They shouldn't throw away a lottery pick on a 31 year old free-agent borderline all-star.

Would it be worth trading Buddy Hield or a lottery pick? No. If the Pelicans have any hope, at all, of keeping Davis long-term. They really need to start hitting on their draft picks.

I think trading away any assets, as bad as they are, for a 31 year old power forward that can just walk would be a pretty awful thing for them. The GM should be fired if he does that.

Millsap doesn't move the needle at all for them. They are still a lottery team.

Dragic and Knight, never going to happen.

Deron Williams or Rubio, only possible if they get bought out.

We easily pass on Jarrett Jack and Ty Lawson. Most likely pass on Rondo too.

Cole should be an option. As well as Mario Chalmers. If Deron or Rubio get bought out, either would be the best scenario for us. But I'd guess it will be Mario or Cole. Not bad options though. I'd take any of the 4 and be happy.

Chalmers and Cole are just bad players, not good (Chalmers used to have a little something but then he got the worst injury you can get, tore his achilles). At least with some of those other players they either have one elite skill today or used to have elite skills.

Our success rate with former Heat running mates of Lebron sucks -- Miller, Birdman, JJ has been a great bench addition but not so much on the court. There's a reason for that, Lebron overvalues them.

Lue coached Rondo in Boston. I think Lue would have more of a say in rather or not we get Rondo than even LeBron.

I'd take DWill he's averaging 14 and 7 in 30mins a game. Didn't realize he was still fairly productive. Expecting Chalmers though.

I hope chalmers can still bring something and not washed up like birdman and dunleavy have been
