Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
chandler is almost done IMO

Yeah, I can't imagine we're willing to take on that contract.

Morris at least makes sense because of his age.

He still has a ton of life left in his legs and is signed to a reasonable deal.

Paying someone like Chandler nearly $14 million in 2018-19 seems like a bad idea.

Don't believe everything you read.
I'm saying the opposite. I was implying that it would be ridiculous to trade Mozgov at this point, which is why I doubt we'd be trying to do, unless we're absolutely blown away by an offer. And with the way Moz has played, no one's going to offer that much.

The Cavaliers are reportedly making calls on the market for Timofey Mozgov.

The big man has been a shadow of himself this season after a dominant performance in the NBA Finals last season, and there is some concern that he never fully healed after offseason knee surgery.

The Cavs started him on Friday vs. the Rockets because they needed his size against Dwight Howard, but he only played 18 minutes with two points, two boards and one block.
I like it. There is no better strategy than buying high and selling low!

Would hate to see Moz go. He is my favorite player. I think we should stick with him. It's not that his play last year was a fluke. It doesn't work this way.

Makes little sense to trade Mozgov. May as well keep him around and hope that he comes back to form. If not, you let him walk when the season is over.

Even if he's not doing well at protecting the rim right now (or really, anything), I don't like the idea of trading him away. Better to have him and not need him than to need him and not have him.

Trade away our only semblance of rim protection, sounds like a great idea.

I was about to say 'Moz is your FAVORITE player?!?!?!'...then I saw your name and guessed you must be Russian, which makes it make WAY more sense, haha. :)

Not sure why everyone is assuming Moz would need to be involved in a trade for Morris. Note that the OP said the Cavs would be facilitating the trade. Couldn't they be using part (or all) of the TPE in order to get a pick or a player via a 3-way trade? Maybe they can pull in a 1st to use in another deal?

This may be more likely...and may included other guys like Cunningham or Kaun.

At some inevitable point, San Antonio or Golden State is going to try to beat us by going small. This is an undeniable fact. You shouldn't be surprised when they try it.

With the way the league is shaking up, I don't think Mozgov is good enough to be on the floor in the biggest moments of the game. Rather than block the shots at the rim, it's more valuable to have a 1st line of defense and don't even allow them to get to the rim. Mozgov's hands are shit, his confidence is fractured; he looks like a player who should be on the soulless Houston Rockets.

What the Cavaliers need the absolute most, is another swingman defender to back up LeBron James. Richard Jefferson should be our last option, if we could get a player like PJ Tucker, he could very well be on the floor in those deciding moments.

The Cavs won't even think about using Mozgov in the clutch. Especially not after this start to the season. He's just too fucking clumsy and not playing with enough passion.

I think it's more likely that we'll see more of the same from Mozgov than to think he's going to experience a miraculous comeback and be the player he was last year. I would bank on teams beating Cleveland with small-ball than bank on Mozgov turning Ben Wallace for a series.

When we inevitably play the Spurs or the Warriors, you are going to have to deal with Igoudala, Barnes, Draymond

Or the Spurs Leonard, Green, and Diaw.

If you know anything about these teams, it's that players like Diaw, Igoudals and Draymond can kill you with their versatility, especially passing.

We really need another player to do the "dirty work" and allow LeBron to guard a lesser player. Iman Shumpert is that kind of player, but he's not big enough to guard Diaw or Draymond.

You can't reasonably expect LeBron to do everything he does offensively, rebound and assist at a high level and then also ask Bron to guard Iggy AND Draymond.

Tucker would be a fucking god-send! David Griffin has contacts in Phoenix, and their situation is really bad. Their owner is notoriously cheap, and they happen to have something we need really fucking bad. I think the snaggle will be re-routing Tyson Chandler who Phoenix now inevitably wants to rid themselves of, but he's 34 and paid for 3.5 more seasons.

The Cavs have to be having some serious doubts about signing Mozgov long term. A lot can happen between now and July but Mozgov is not exactly inspiring confidence.

I wonder what it would take to get Kyle O'Quinn from New York. He is on a cheap long term contract and is hardly playing in New York because Porzingis and Lopez and Williams are getting almost all the minutes. If we could somehow get him as an insurance policy for Mozgov then we could go to him in the playoffs if Mozgov struggles and then we'd have an affordable center which would allow us to cut Mozgov loose rather than feeling compelled to overpay to retain him.

Article on O'Quinn (a bit old). Basically describes him as all around OK. If nothing else he'd be a cheap, young big man to have on the roster who can probably play a lot better than Kaun: http://www.orlandopinstripedpost.com/2014/1/21/5328780/kyle-oquinn-nba-stats-orlando-magic-2014
