Not a trade rumor, but the spurs convinced Pau and Lee to opt out, potentially opening up space for a max free agent.

So if PG and JB are out of the picture, we're left with CP3 and Melo?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have held exploratory trade talks centered on New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and L.A. Clippers star Chris Paul, league sources have told Cavs Nation.

Anthony and Paul are two of LeBron James’ super pals and players he has said he has dreamed of playing alongside before his career ends – and while it appears to be a long shot, the Cavs are trying to improve the current team in every way possible. If bringing in either Anthony or Paul can improve the team while keeping James happy, well, the Cavs are likely open to it.

The 32-year old Paul, of course, is a free agent and would have to be brought in via a sign-and-trade arrangement. Anthony, 33-years old, has a no-trade clause in his contract, but would welcome a trade to Cleveland, sources said.

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and assistant general manager Koby Altman have been fronting the Cavs’ trade talks following the surprising parting of ways with former GM David Griffin on Monday.

While Anthony and Paul are two options the Cavs are said to be considering, they appear to be more dialed in to trade discussions with the Indiana Pacers for Paul George, and especially, the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler.

San Antonio looks to be clearing space for CP3.. leaving us with Carmelo. I don't mind Melo if we give up nothing substantial.

DeAndre Jordan is being put out there. Who here would be a fan of getting him assuming this will never happen but a player like him would he interest anyone here?

Throwing something out there... KI, Tristan, Cedi :: CP3 and DeAndre? I get that KI is much younger, but that may not matter. I sort of doubt KI makes ALL-NBA team (this is the part to argue, to me)... leaving Cavs with little leverage to keep him around post LBJ era. So CP3 and KI Cavs playing windows wouldn't be that different. This assumes CP3 agrees to S&T, and that Clips would rather have Cedi and KI than rebuild from absolutely nothing.

That's a heck of a starting 5 for Cavs. Thoughts?

I was reading that Porzingas is possibly available. Would anyone trade Love for Porzingas + Fillers?

I'm a huge Love supporter. But I wouldn't mind getting a budding star with athletic ability and can shoot.

Just wanting to see people thoughts.

I'm not sure if I would. I wish Porzingas was a better rebounder. He really isn't very good at all though. And, I don't think he's better than Love, just yet.

I guess it really depends on what other fillers were involved.

Don't see the point of making that trade

Thanks for your input. I was looking more into the future a little bit with my thoughts. I thought Zingas was pretty good from the little I saw from him last year.

I like him, he is a good player.

I just think losing Love for him; would hurt us too much on the boards, while Portzingas not really making a significant enough difference on defense or offense.

If the pieces involved with him were really good, and made sense, then that would be different.

I don't know why Phil Jackson would do it either, but he's not exactly brimming of greatness as an executive either.

Getting Melo without giving up Love would be excellent. Add a big man (c), a pg somehow and they're ready to rock.

Interesting that Porzingis is repped by Andy Miller. Not to mention so are Lue, Billups and supposed incoming GM Justin Zanik used to work there.

Getting drunk on tea leaves here but bear with me.

Phil leaks he wants a top-four pick
Suns want an established veteran
Billups about to become GM ("Cavs should trade Melo for Love")
Phil airing all dirty laundry on TV tonight
JR Smith tweeting goodbye Cavs

Could we see something like this in the offing?

Cavaliers
Carmelo Anthony
Kristaps Porzingis
Courtney Lee

Knicks
Eric Bledsoe
JR Smith
Channing Frye
Suns No. 4
Future Suns 1st

Suns
Kevin Love
Cedi Osman
