Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Zero conventional wisdom or tactics apply to the Warriors....

Clever.

And man, no team has been more retroactively overrated than that Clippers team. Holy cow.
They were #1 in ORTG, #2 in NETRTG, and their lack of a bench was less of a problem in the the playoffs.

They were really good last year. They are just way worse this year.

Our number one priority is to get a solid rim protector who can finish around the rim and maybe hit an open midrange, and not a back up to Lebron & Shump.

I'v said it once and I'll say it again, were not winning a championship with the Love/T.T frontcourt.
we'll probably get to the Finals again with this lineup just by pure talent combined with great effort,
but we will loose to SAS/Warriors in a 7 game series with T.T and Love starting at the 4 and 5,
it will not be pretty and they will abuse us and exploit that over and over again.

no rim protection = no championship, its just that simple.
If we only got Dieng in the Love trade. Really bitter about that

I think if the Cavs could make the trade today, they could have gotten him.

He seems to have plateaued from his rookie season, where he showed a ridiculous amount of potential in the back half of that season. He averaged something like 13 and 11 with 2 or so blocks in extended minutes. Since then, his value has certainly tailed off IMO. Additionally, that was before they had Towns, which also weakens their negotiating positon a bit.

It's too bad Cleveland doesn't have any assets left. I honestly think Minnesota would move Dieng for a pick and some other asset at this point. He doesn't fit very well alongside Towns, so they have to play him almost exclusively as a backup center. The most used lineup with Dieng and Towns together has only played 41 total minutes this season. Given they have Pekobic there as well (at Center), it seems like a glut of bigs. Their roster still has big holes at PF and SG, so it's too bad Cleveland doesn't have an expendable asset there.

Cavs related:

Pau Gasol - F/C - Bulls

According to USA Today, the Bulls were quietly checking into deals for Pau Gasol before Joakim noah (shoulder) went down.

Gasol is going to opt out of the final year of his contract this summer, but he has a short list of teams who he is willing to sign with which will make it tough for Chicago to deal him.

The Noah injury will drastically reduce the chances that the Bulls would move Gasol unless they plan on giving up on their title hopes.

Bulls didn't want Gasol to walk away and get nothing.

Any chance Cavs try and go after Gasol?

That dude can still play. His biggest weakness this season has been crappy rebounding, but we have two of the best rebounders in the league, so that is sort of mitigated. He spreads the floor really well, can play both Power Forward and Center, and opponents are shooting 6.2% worse against him than they do normally.

I doubt Bulls trade him to us, but if they really are shopping him, I'd 100% give it a look.

Totally agree but as you said, no way the Bulls trade him to their main rival in the East.

No way the Bulls trade to us anything useful, not saying he wouldn't help, just saying no way.

I think it depends. If I remember correctly the circumstances were similar when they traded Ben Wallace to us (although, to your point, Bulls sucked that year) in 07-08. I do think it is very unlikely, and we'd probably need to give more than what we should. Just saying, it would be a huge coup if we could grab him.

Gasol would be a dream but no way the Bulls help us. And now with Noah down they need every Big.

I think we really should ask Phi about one of their wing defenders. Covington,Sampson,Grant. one of them could propable be attainable.

Only Covington can shoot the three out of those guys but he also will be more expensive. Sampson and Grant dont have much offense but both are athletic young wings who play hard defense.
