Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Let TT play 1 second of the games at the end of the year if his streak is that important. If he has tendinitis he needs rest. That's just dumb to continue a meaningless streak. He's not going to beat AC Green's 15 year streak... he's not going to have a 15 year career.

"Played in X number of straight games" vs "played in X number of straight games except for a few games of rest" makes no difference to anyone besides apparently TT himself.

Holy shit TT is the Canadian non virgin re-incarnation of AC Green. I guess not surprising as they play the same role for championship teams (rebound, hustle, garbage man, defense)

Interesting. I still don't envision TT playing 15 years. Can't shoot, undersized, relies heavily on athleticism.

Tristan is actually pretty athletic and he is going to have a long career. He hasnt missed a game in over 300 games if i dont recall.

TT will play 15. But it may not be a great 15. Probably a drop off around 10 once he loses his quickness and all these bumps he takes finally catches up to him.

I disagree about his game relying on athleticism. He doesn't exactly soar though the air for rebounds. And his dunks aren't exactly deandre Jordanish. His game is very much below the rim. The only athleticism he needs is quickness.

yeah in multiple ways, was clear that they'd gameplanned for Cavs and not vice versa.

I'm just hoping this is their vanilla High PnR defense. Like in Deathtrap (in crucial scene between Reeves & Caine, one tells the other as they're trying to kill each other that he's read the guy's play and it's crap, and the guy goes "of course it is, I let you read the dummy script, for every tin pan alley line I've got a better one squirreled away"), they'd been saving the gold for the playoffs.

I don't really believe that, but I so dearly want to.

I think the playoff adjustment is easy though. They were running Harden-Capela or Harden-Nene PnRs. We should just be trapping Harden, and rotating LBJ off Ariza onto Capela/Nene, neither of whom are good passers. If Harden can make the pass out of the double team, and Capela can make a pass out of the paint, then you live with Ariza and his 34.7% 3PT shooting.

This was the same strategy we've been using against Curry/Green PnR, except Green is a much better passer and his pass is eventually going to Thompson or Durant. Against Houston the strategy should actually work.

Yup, he holds the NBA record among active players of most consecutive games played and the #2 guy isn’t particularly close.

Where his athleticism comes into play is not his dunks or rebounds, but his defensive ability and being able to switch on guards. Which goes along with what you were saying that the only athleticism he needs is quickness and hustle. TT will always be an asset as long as he doesn’t become slow and lumbering.

He relies very heavily on his ahelticism to switch onto guards and get his offensive rebounds, which are his top two traits. If he can no longer do those things he becomes an undersized big who can't shoot. In 5 more years in this NBA, he's going to have an issue staying on the court once he starts losing his ability for those two things.

TT just can't finish inside without momentum. He gets dwarfed inside by starting bigs and can't get a decent shot off.
At the start of the game he got a perfect pass inside and didn't even look at the basket against Ingles at point blank range. He just decided to back off.
That was embarrasing.I really don't understand how a starting Big has inside finesse game (especially since he is undersized) and always tries to two hand dunk. Can he even palm the ball? I have yet to see him dunk a ball with one hand.

I really want to see him come off the bench at some point. Maybe Sanders pans out or we somehow get a good starting center.

He uses his solid base and awareness to grab rebounds. Not sure if he will be serviceable after his 10th year but may hang around due to loyalty (Haslem and OKC's Collison).

Limitation:

(1) Offense: Needs a running start to reach max capacity on lobs. Hence why when underneath the basket, he squats low with the ball to gain moment and will typically go for dunks when kicking it out or laying it up is a better option. Average athleticism (I will give you quickness) and SF height at the center position combined with poor skills translates poorly.

(2) Defense: His elite timing on Offensice rebounds doesn't translate on defensive side as he often gets beat to the spot by EVERY player in the league while being out of position to block the shot.

Kyrie routinely finishes with CONTACT against our opponents while guards on opposing teams seems to always finished unmolested as TT is usually in no mans land (eating the 3 or giving up uncontested layups...see the Houston game). I was shocked he didn't send George Hills shot into the stands on one play where he was in proper position last night.

Either he is hurt and hiding it or he has regressed because he was never a shot blocker but he always used his body to make it tougher for guards.

If we're playing Drummond or Whiteside in the playoffs, I wouldn't play him at all but I don't see Lue doing that.

Kim has quite a bit more "junk in the trunk" than I like. Like, A LOT more. Her entire belly/waist/ass/thigh area is actually pretty nasty looking to me if I'm being honest about my preferences. I tend to like thinner women, but yes, I do think she has an attractive face and (most of the time) the correct hair color.
I like asses of all shapes colors and sizes but Thats a fucking trainwreck. The whole familys.

They look like subdermal diapers packed with shit.

One of the younger ones is gorgeous, i forget which and im not going to contribute to any webhits for that family

Has Chloe made any disclosures about TT's "hand size"? :chuckle:

He finishes layups/dunks and converts little floaters with both hands in traffic pretty regularly. He also has pretty good hands and catches some tough passes from LeBron and Kyrie.

Khloe is courtside. Can we blame her for TT losing his teeth and potentially breaking his ironman streak?
