Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The most expensive flaming bag of shit you'd ever see.

Oh yeah almost forgot:

And we'd have the first basketball fatality since Bo Kimble, because his damn heart would give out after five minutes of carrying that trunk of lard around

I'm just not ready to write Tristan off because of one really really bad series considering how good he was last year and how good he was in the playoffs leading up to this series.

Yeah, abysmal series, agreed.

But it does not make him overpaid(in todays NBA...TT is underpaid at $15 million...seriously take a look around the league)
It doesn't make him trash, garbage, or useless.

The Warriors have made it a point to neutralize him. And while he still could be better (it's gotten to his head, badly), there's something to be said about a team that good scheming and basically selling out in multiple ways to make sure he doesn't have the impact we're used to him having.

Now, obviously after seeing this series and how he looks against the Warriors with Durant, my stance on potentially trading him has softened quite a bit.

He has no trade value, what team will even want him now? Hes a one trick pony.
Right now it looks like its a bad contract, What does he do well?

He can't defend the paint, and has very low basketball IQ and no understanding of defensive positioning, always being out of position or late on defense, him and the coach are the #1 reasons we we're so bad defensively all year.

Hes supposed to be a mobile center thats able to switch and guard smaller players? I just don't see it, hes getting beat more often than not and hes late to contest the shot at the rim anyway.

On offense hes a complete sieve, gotta be one of the lowest offensive IQ players in the league, can't make the right pass, tunnel vision, confused with the ball in his hands and constantly misses the right basketball play that he needs to make.

I think were stuck with him, just can't see what team is going to give anything we might need for him, unless we package him with someone else.

I'd be happy if we traded this dude and some scraps for Melo. He played good offensively but his defense was terrible. He didn't protect the boards and that's what he's known for.

It's so demoralizing that Warriors doesn't even guard him.

But I'd like to think he still has some trade value? I mean come on, Bismack fucking Biyombo earns more than him and his stats are not even close to Tristan...

Hustle alone does not cut it in the NBA and my biggest problem with Tristan is not his presence on the team but the contract to which he was signed. The money paid to him should be paid to a scorer, not a hustler. I also don't see how we can trade him, but we need to explore trading that contract with one of our better players to make cap space. There is a lot of debate going on about trading Love, but i think regardless of what we do with Love, Tristans contract has to go in my opinion.

I would swap TT for anything close to a real center in a minute as long as that player was still a strong rebounder. I'd rather we have a center who can defend the paint better and it would help our defense if we had a guy that our perimeter players could funnel attackers to. Most conventional centers have as good or better offensive games that TT as well.

Zaza made TT his bitch in the early part of game 5 and I was disgusted by that. Then the Warriors essentially forced us to run some of our offense through TT and we all got to see how pathetic that looks in live game action. In my mind TT was a huge liability against the Warriors, far worse than any other shortcoming on our team.

They didn't guard them? they had an entire game plan focused on Tristan Thompson including drawing him out of the paint.

Thompsons poor play has been exaggerated. He certainly could of played better but having him guard green and every perimeter player that was open, as well as playing help defenders.. with Durant in there it was just too much for Thompson.

Game 5 they had a better role for Thompson and finally let him take advantage of some mismatches.

Ultimately Thompson wasn't the reason the Cavs lost the series.

scapegoat him al you awant but I am really doubtful Thompson is anywhere but Cleveland next season.

I honestly thought TT was point shaving and purposely sucking because of all the drama. But, what it really was he had no sense of urgency until Game 4. How can that happen in the finals I don't know.

There is no exaggeration, he was all over the court. And even when he was in paint, Zaza damn Pachulia was owning him. We can't afford 3 rebound games from our starting center. He was not aggressive enough, at least for first 3 games he was absolute garbage. And my eyes bleed when Lue played him and Shumpert at the same time.

Anyway, I am not saying he is the reason we lost this series. I don't know if it would make a great difference just him playing better. I'm just disappointed that's all. Before the series, I thought he'd be a great advantage for us but it didn't work out like that.

I wonder if ORL would be open to a TT-Biyombo swap. I've coveted Biyombo for years, I think having him on the roster would solve A LOT (not all) of our defensive issues.

Biyombo would be pointless against the Warriors.

He would make TT look Bill Walton offensively.

Biyombo is just not good. Especially for that salary. If we trade TT and I think we should, it should be for a good solid wing or a back-up PG who can play-make and isn't an abomination on the defensive end.

To me TT is just replaceable in so many ways. There has to be players who can bring some of his inside toughness but with better shot blocking and scoring ability for equal or less money.

Don't ask me for any details at this point. It's just my gut feeling that he is the weak link especially against our nemesis.
