Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just saw this stat post over on The OBR by a guy named Rawdawg:

Don't forget how bad they played at the beginning of the year before he got hurt.

With Thompson (>10min):
Record: 7-14
PF: 105.3
PA: 112
Diff: -6.7

Without Thompson (<10min):
Record: 19-3
PF: 113.5
PA: 105.7
Diff: +7.8

Wow. That's egregious.

I’m as down on TT as I’ve ever been and am fully hopeful we move him by the deadline.

But the trick with that stat, while it’s valid and speaks to some of the issues played by him on this years version of the team presents, it’s also worth looking at the schedule. In that 19-3 stretch with him not playering at all or under ten minutes, I’m pretty sure we only played 4-5 teams with winning records. Not a total defense of him, but it’s part of the whole picture. It might be that we were never quite as good as that stretch indicated.

That said, if TT is dealt, it will be fascinating to see what impact that has in the immediate 20-25 games without him

Thompson played 14 minutes with a -3 +/-

In the second half the Cavs were up by 1 by the time Thompson was put in the game. Cavs were down by 6 with a full 6 minutes left.

Not sure why Scapegoating Thompson is the trend

however if your committed to the stretch center then Frye should be your back up with Thompson and Green rotating at the 4.

Must watch clip on TT’s Trade Watch....details why teams would want him and why teams wouldn’t .

I think TT probably has a reasonably good trade value because teams could believe that they're buying low, with a reasonable possibility of him returning to his previous productivity once he's fully in shape/healthy.

Also, as @InBoobieWeTrust has pointed out many times, TT will be a nice expiring contract after next season, and a rebuilding team may not mind that salary for next season while they're tanking or developing young players. And then in 2019/20 season he'll be a nice expiring trade chip.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can find a good deal with TT + Shump + Cavs' own pick.

Plot twist, tt gets trades and starts playing like an all star
