Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He leaves it all on the court and gets the most from his limited skill-set.

This used to be the case, but his effort over the past couple seasons has been downright terrible outside of the postseason.

If he were still playing the game with the energy that he played with prior to the contract extension, I'd be with you here, but he simply doesn't.

Ya know, I saw a different TT last night. I could be wrong but maybe he’ll play differently knowing we have a real long shot to make the second season vs waltz our way in with half effort.

Trading him has to the number one objective. I don't believe Lue is going to go with Zizic, with TT on the roster.

He's shown time and time again, he's going to give his veterans, especially guys that were with him through a finals run burn first.

I'd be fine keeping him and bringing him off the bench, but honestly, he doesn't even have a role here anymore.

Nance is younger and someone that should be getting more time. We should be developing Zizic, who has shown real bright spots.

We're not building for George Hill and Tristan Thompson. LeBron is gone. These guys serve no purpose on the roster.

I cringe when he gets near the ball. You would think he'd know not to bring the ball down and someone please tell him he doesn't need to use butter on his hands before the game.

Thompson tonight was 1-10 from the field (10%).

The last time somebody 6'9" or taller (a typical big man) shot that bad on at least 10 or more shots was LaMarcus Aldridge in 2014 (he went 1-13). Boogie Cousins did it once when he was young in 2012, but then, nobody since Chris Kaman in 2008.

So yeah, Tristan is garbage, especially since most of those shots came at the rim. Nine of Aldridge's 13 shots in that game were mid-rangers.

Wtf kind of offense are we running where our worst offensive performer takes 10 shots? The best part about it -- he's going 1-10 and not even taking jumpshots :chuckle:

Can anyone answer this....WHY IS HE PLAYING SO FUCKING MUCH? I just cant comprehend why he is playing so many minutes. I thought he was going to be our big who would come off the bench, grab a few rebounds, make a couple hustle plays. Hell, we are playing him like hes Joel Embid.

I feel like TT doesn't have anywhere close to the same lift and explosiveness he had 1.5 years ago. We can't run high handoffs and lobs for him anymore because of it.

If anyone is interested in him I would dump him right now. As bad as Melo was last season, I'm still mad we didn't give up TT for Melo. We could have cleared TTs contract off the books a year earlier.

Honest question, what has he worked on or improved in his game since entering the league? Pretty much every good skill he’s had has remained static across his career (or gotten worse) and he never developed a jump shot, became a good defender, learned how to distribute, etc.

Does he have small hands? He's always cradling the ball and needs 2 hands to dunk. I've been saying this for years but the only reason he plays in the NBA is because of his height. Dude has zero natural ability, even the way he moves is awkward. Just not a winning player.

A bit extreme in the analysis. Hes useful with he can play a specific role; he can switch and rebound. When you go beyond this, which obviously this year will happen, you easily see how limited he is, esp on the offensive side of the ball. On a team with the need of a big that can switch on defense an bring energy, hes a pretty good fit. He has significant playoff experience, and has some good showings vs GS.

As long as hes healthy and rebounding, they should be able to move him over the next two years, esp in the last year of his deal.
