Twin Peaks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, in a nut shell, the nuclear testing bomb, was the creation of BOB. Maybe even the creation of the Black Lodge itself?

The gotta light guy, I take it was also created from that, and is part of the black lodge.

Might explain in the earlier episodes, where BOB's presence was described as scorched engine oil.

The rest, I don't know, man... It's Lynch, it was one of the most fucked up, incredible, bizarre, and amazing visual experience I've ever had.

The Laura's face on that glowing ball, to me, was the biggest question mark. Was Laura created, too, when the Giant was???? WTF.

This is just me spit balling it. That the young girl, from the 50s, might be Laura Palmer's mother.

And that cockroach, that crawled inside her was actually BOB. But, BOB actually came inside Leland when he was a boy, so I'm not so sure about that.

Maybe the boy the girl kissed, is Leland though?

Also, Cooper is back, IMO.

I think the Cooper that woke up, is our good old Cooper. Remember, the doppleganger Cooper/Bob, was still out there, and Cooper couldn't completely come back as Cooper until Bob/Evil Dale returns. Now, he's gone, presumably back into the Black Lodge?

I think our good ole' Dale is back. I at least hope so. The Dougie shit was cute, but getting old, not sure how much more I can take of it. Although Janey-E, played by Noami Watts is killing it.

Wouldn't the boy be Leland? IIRC he was the one inhabited by BOB, not Sarah.

I get the whole origins-of-BOB thing. I guess I just don't get the timing (that, and the full-length NIN song.) Like, why go there now? It reminds me of "Lost" when right in the middle of a multi-storyline season they just dropped in a random episode about the backstory of Jacob and the Man in Black.

As far as Dougie/Dale is concerned I really think Lynch is slow-playing us, knowing he's in it for the long haul and Showtime won't do him like ABC did. We might not get a resolution there until next season, seriously. And I agree about Naomi Watts, she is beasting it.

Anyway, as fucked up as that episode was the visuals were incredible. No complaints here, I'm on this ride until the terminus.

Pretty sure this is it for Twin Peaks (sadly). It took years to write this and have it developed, and Lynch directed every episode himself. Doubt he can do that going forward; the series would take years to develop at that rate.

Although he's not shut the door on it; he's admitted there's been no plans to continue it either. I hope there's more, but I don't think there will be.

Yes, Bob inhabited Leland. But the real twist might be, he inhabited both Sarah and Leland; and took turns with each. Notice Sarah was always out of it, when Bob inhabited Leland. Laid drug out on the floor when he killed Maddie.

And she herself, in the final episode of season two came to Major Briggs, saying she's in the Black Lodge with Cooper. Under Bob's control? How did she get into the Black Lodge? And why? From what?

The only part that doesn't add up, is that Leland was living in Twin Peaks as a boy, and said that Bob came to him, during his visits at Pear Lakes.

I hated the NIN bit. In fact, I was so fucking pissed we got 5 minutes of it on the show... Total filler IMO. Didn't care for it. I like NIN, but didn't care for the extension of it.

Reading more about last night's episode, to try to get others opinions and feel what happen.

Probably one of the better explanations of how BOB/black lodge came.

"In a less metaphorical sense, it seems that the bomb tore a short-lived hole in the fabric of spacetime, allowing creatures from the Black Lodge dimension to pass through it. If the bug is BOB, then it appears the woodsmen come from the same place — and have the same desires — as he does. I’m not sure I’m 100% down with this — I always liked the theory that BOB was a manifestation of the way abuse is passed down through generations, an idea that seems undermined by the way his first host is a young girl who Lynch goes out of his way to portray as innocent and pure."

A quarter through 3.1

I'm not sure David lynch has ever had a conversation with a human being

I like it. Episode 4, have the rest downloaded. Gonna power through tonight

Stop it. This is Twin Peaks and you will respect the gawd Lynch in this thread.
Dougie may be the worst thing that's ever happened to fiction

Even typing that name makes me apoplectic

I know this thread will be dead with GoT. And yes, the Dougie stuff I've grown tired of.

But it was maybe worth it at least for this. The Mithum brothers are the new Horne's.

Yes, Love the Mitchums. And is there anything better than last ep's conga line??

Hysterical. I think people that are disappointed in the return are watching it for the wrong reasons.

Fuck, the ratings are bad though. And showtime doesn't sound the least bit interested in having it back. :(

I never thought I'd honestly like the show this much, if you told me we'd basically not see the old Dale Cooper again.

The new characters have kind of owned it though. I want to find out more about the Bobby and Big Ed story lines.

And is Audrey actually still in a coma? WTF. Her appearance was bizarre. At first I hated it. Thinking damn, what happen to Audrey. But something isn't adding up. She suddenly doesn't know where the roadhouse is? She's lived in Twin Peaks all her life.

Or is Tom actually her doctor? Is she dreaming this? Isn't Richard her son? Wouldn't she be wondering/worried about him?

Really hoping they bring the series back. I wish Lynch never went to Showtime though. Netflix or HBO would have been better.

I agree. I think so many people are disappointed that Coop isn't really back that it's souring them on how great and unique of a show this has been. I convinced myself way back after ep 4 that he would be in Dougie mode for the long haul so I've been able to sit back and enjoy. Ratings are bad but reviews have been pretty favorable from what I've seen.

Audrey... I have no clue. After Charlie said he would "end her story", I'm thinking he's got to be her doctor/therapist and is playing along with whatever is happening in her mind. Who knows if we even get definitive answers there.

Richard has to be her son, right? Can't be Johnny's I wouldn't think, and as far as we know Ben Horne had no other children. Is the father Dark Coop as some suspect?

I was dying at them bringing back "Just You" as performed by the "always been cool" James Hurley. That was one of the strangest scenes in the original run, and it almost seems like a troll job to have them do it again.

And the arm wrestling... I don't know how people can't just sit back and enjoy how incredibly strange this thing is. I'm really going to miss it when it ends.

I was thinking was it possible that Richard was Jack's son? He seems right around the age of 25. The age where the show left off, and Jack took Audrey's virginity before leaving.

However, the fact he's so screwed might be the bad Dale's kid. If that's the case, then Audrey obviously isn't still in a coma.

But just mentally that screwed up? Doesn't remember who she is exactly? I don't think Charlie is her husband IMO. That's her doctor/psychiatrist. Got to be.

Trying to pinpoint though how long did Bad Dale stay in Twin Peaks. A few months? Or wait, I forgot. He went to the hospital that night (bad Cooper) after having his infamous "How's Annie" scene according to Doctor Hayward. Then just left town? I forget if Doc Hayward said that or not.

I was actually rooting for Bad Dale, in that entire scene with Ray and his gang. Couldn't stand Ray. That was pretty awesome though. We all knew he'd beat that guy in arm wrestling, given he's supernatural with unwordly powers. But how he did it was pretty awesome.

The "Just You" scene holy shit. I couldn't believe it and thought it was a joke. I asked myself is this really happening? I laughed so hard. James Hurley had a crowd of Nine Inch Nails, too ? Lol

I first laughed so hard, but then I felt the scene strangely touching after watching it though. I was never a big fan of the original scene, although I didn't loath it like some fans. I found it so cheesy, and so James. And funny that James (although I get that's not his real voice singing the song), had this very high falsetto voice that just amplifies how corny he really was!

But for some reason this scene had a more touching effect. Like we're supposed to realize James seems to have gone through a lot, or something. And it feels like he's longing for, or missing a part of his youth when life was better for him.

Totally agree. I feel like Lynch has really used the old cast well in these new roles. Outside of Audrey (remains to be seen), I like how the pieces fit. From mundane normal stuff (Shelly, Norma), to pieces that affect the story (Bobby) it seems to work pretty well. Even James' arc feels right.

Speaking of which, curious where this new development with the green glove kid goes. What is his true calling? I remember James bringing him to the Roadhouse in ep 1 and wondering what was up with the glove. Never expected it to be explained.

The dream sequence was so great. Monica Bellucci... as herself! Loved it. And she will probably be attractive into her 90's somehow.

Sarah Palmer... that was something. That scene made me think the bug in ep 8 crawled into her mouth as a child. There's something off there and it's more than just Bob.

Didn't even get to Andy in the White Lodge. So much to process.

Yep, I feel the Sarah scene almost confirms the bug that went into her. I assumed the bug was BOB. But maybe not. I finally feel like James is used correctly in the series. It was good for him to get more dialogue.

Maybe it's because he doesn't have any more scenes with Donna. I never could stand her character, or the actress. Or that awful Evelyn story.

For all the shit James has gotten by Twin Peak fans. He's always been pitted with either the worst story lines of the series, and/or just extremely boring characters that can't act worth shit.

The kid with the glove, that is really interesting. I love how Lynch can tell a story and just suck us into it. I think we felt exactly how James did. Like woah, that's some story to digest, especially on his birthday.

Also, is Cooper finally going to come back to Cooper? Seems Albert and Cole are finally going to collide with Cooper.

I wonder how the hell they are going to wrap all this up in 3 episodes. Still so many stories to digest. I really want more of this show though.

I guess Andy pretty much saw everything that's happen? I wonder why Andy though. Given, it's Andy! :chuckle: I figured he'd be the last person you'd want to relay all that stuff to.
