Tyronn Lue has been fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gilbert gotta sell the team.

Lue should have been fired TWO summers ago. To fire after 6 games....why in the world didnt you just fire him this summer? Did Dan honestly not think it possible we start off poorly?

Again, I look to Milwaukee, where Budenholzer has them shooting 40 3s a game and theyre 7-0 and think that could have been us. He could have been our hire.

Huh?
You actually think he would pick coaching the Cavs over the Bucks? Their roster is vastly superior, and they have a bonafide superstar in Giannis and another all-star caliber player in Middleton.

Don't know.

Do know there's a lot more that goes into a coaches decision beyond roster. Theyre humans, so money and power go a long way.

And the Bucks arent paying him much and didnt make him GM or President of Ops like he was in Atlanta. Things the Cavs could have done. Particularly the money.

Fire this guy fire this fire this guy... guy gets fired.... Why didn't you fire him sooner. why didn't you fire him sooner

the bitch cycle never ends
But see now you just continued the bitch cycle by bitching about other people bitching, so people are now going to bitch about you, bitching about them. I hope you're happy.

I see we have a lot of Gilbert lovers in here

I suspect many of us are fans who suffered through cheap owners of various Cleveland sports franchises, and saw how it crippled us. Dan's kind of like the unattractive but really rich guy. He may not be someone women would look at normally, but because of his money, he can always get a hot woman.

But but but Longabardi is still the defensive coordinator. Why is he here, when a daddy like Lue is long gone?

It's a valid question. Unless, Lue was using Longabardi as a shield, and it was really Lue's own mishaps that kept Longabardi's system from working well. But that's just pure horseshit speculation.

Other than that...why the fuck is he still here???

The Cavs - and I think they would be right in this -- may let Drew (or whomever else they make interim HC) make that decision. Making it their call is one way to give the interim the appearance of some real authority.

Good point. Makes sense to me.

When you have an incompetent front office, this is normally the case.

Boy he really sucked. Team looked inspired because the cancer was removed. Don't get me wrong, I think Drew is horrible too. And the team still sucks.

Just speaks volumes how bad Lue was. Thanks for keeping him Dan when we could have started over with a new staff.

Drew will want lifetime guaranteed contract now. If he wins three in a row, Dan will probably give him one.

Drew's post-game comments were interesting. He sounded like a guy taking over a brand new team with which he was completely unfamiliar. And I don't mean that in a disparaging sense towards Drew. It almost sounded like there was no clear strategy or approach under Lue at all. Like everything was rudderless, and so Drew has to start from scratch to see what works.

Didn't sound like Drew and Lue we're on the same page at all.
