Understanding why.......

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm sorry Coyote. It sounds like your sister had a full life and certainly had a loving brother. I don't have anything else I can possibly say but condolences.

Damn, I’m really sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my father a couple years ago, he passed about 5 months after he was diagnosed- the shit just sucks.

You will never “understand why” - I know that I haven’t

My condolences.

I'm curious what type of cancer? Which region of the body?

Just saw this thread. I’m sorry to read this from you guys. Horrible news. I’m glad rcf is there for you. It has helped me vent in my own personal troubles. The world and people can be cruel but if you know where to look, you can find people who are more than willing to help. Rcf is that for a lot of people, it’s not your standard sports message board.

I am so sorry for your losses, @Coyote850 and @Cratylus.

I recently lost an aunt to cancer that they had declared gone eight months prior. It was a shock when she found out she only had three months left after she started feeling bad at Thanksgiving. I lost my Dad as a young man as well. He too went suddenly; a pulmonary embolism a week after a routine surgery.

I hope you will take comfort in remembering them through great memories and embracing the best the traits of their characters. Doing so has helped me.

My sisters funeral was today. I made it through without losing my shit. (Amazingly) We have the most amazing pastor. The man has known my family for 20 years. He has the most incredible ability to take a sad event and bring up a memory that will make you laugh.
Thank you guys for the kind words and thoughts. My life will forever be a little more empty without her, but she will always be with me.

Count yourself lucky on that count at least. (Not to make this about me) In high school I went to a funeral for a beloved teacher where the pastor clearly didn't know her and basically gave a TL;DR of the Bible and told everyone to believe or end up in hell instead of a proper eulogy.

Sorry for your loss. There's no good answers for who gets taken and when, but you'll never lose the love you gave to each other.

My condolences.

I'm curious what type of cancer? Which region of the body?

It was a very rare type of stomach cancer. The tumor had been there for 2 years with no symptoms. It spread to her liver and that's when it was caught. But it was too late. Her liver was destroyed by then. The cancer then spread to one of her lungs and she went down hill in 3 weeks after that. 2 rounds of Chemo did no good.

Sorry for your loss brother. Reading shit like that is absolutely terrifying.... 2 years with no symptoms?? Life is a bitch if only there was a way to be able to tell her.
