Virtual reality

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A couple of new games I've tried.

This one I've played 2 days. It's fun and a decent workout, and you play against real people. It takes a few little while to figure out how to throw the ball with some speed. It took me until the second day to realize I can get hit with my own ball.

I played Crisis on the Planet of the Apes once for about 15 minutes so far, not sure what to think about it yet. On the vive it's a port of a PSVR game, but they didn't make the controllers work right for shooting the gun. The trigger is used to hold the gun, then the track pad is used to shot it. I'm not sure why they didn't make clicking the trigger once hold the gun, then pulling it again shoot it.

Perhaps because they used the triggers to also let you walk with motion by swinging your arms. Perhaps they could swap this with the trackpad. I saw they are going to revise the controls some, I'm going to wait for that to try it again.

One thing I'm not crazy about is you can only move when the game wants you to, and only to the places they let you. So far I've only noticed one time there was even a choice.

I also just saw this one, I haven't played it yet. The game is free, and apparently only works on Vive

It’s pretty sad that that’s mostly true. The technology is incredible and some of the games are so entertaining that I haven’t turned the tv on in weeks.

Facebook/oculus is targeting a billion People using VR.

I am excited about the Quest because this it does not require a PC.

However, I am not excited about the low resolution count and hence a screen-door effect will still be present.

it might make a different for using it for a VR movie theater, but you really don't notice it when you're busy playing games.

Besides, the first video game I ever played looked like this

Hopefully I can test it at some store first.

FWIW, I find these games and the tech fascinating...

If you want to look at some interesting theories on applications and haven't already heard of him look into Dmitry Itskov and the 2045 Initiative. It's kinda along the same lines as Kurzweil's Singularity and will sound impossible on the first read of the project.
