Gour is truthfully just interested for the porn. :chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

I think he's smart enough to wait for the anatomically correct androids that will be out in the next 10-15 years

They’re already out and who knows if he’ll live that long. Gotta experience life while you can

I meant the ones with fully automated bipedal animatronic movements and a programmable personality matrix that's self adaptable :chuckle:

Ok, now that this stuff has been on the market for a while and improvements have been made what is the best set up?

I want to get into this but I don't know what to buy. I don't have a gaming PC. I don't necessarily want to get one but if that makes the best experience I would. I have an XBox One for the kids. Not sure if that makes a difference with anything I would get. Should I wait for the Quest? Who has the most/best content?

What are your recommendations @gourimoko @KI4MVP ?

I still don't understand how Microsoft has not partnered with one of the VR headset makers to get some VR to the Xbox One X.

Heck, if PS4 can do it, why can't the all-powerful X?

I want to play VR, but I don't want to buy a Pc.

waiting for the quest is the most cost effective route. It's $399 vs $1.5k-$3k for a good PCVR setup, depending on just how good you want it. Of course the PCVR system has way more horsepower, but also way more quirks to deal with.

It drives me nuts every time I have to take off the headset to go to Windows to fix something. I can do it, but I have family members who can't. So if something goes wrong and I'm not there, they can't play.

Xbox One was supposed to have VR, they never implemented it. Oculus Quest this spring is the answer.

You think the Quest is the best bet for me?

The best experience is PCVR with Vive or Vive Pro. Best 360 tracking/room scale VR. It's also the most expensive (well, there actually are other more expensive options). PiMax 5k plus and PiMax 8K might be better, I'm not sure if they are actually shipping to new customers yet.

Quest should be a reasonable approximation of that for a fraction of the cost. We'll find out for sure when it's released. Quest should also be far easier to move to another location to play.

I plan to get a Quest (for traveling) even though I have a Vive Pro.

Can the quest be shared to a monitor or tv so someone can see you play the games?

at a minimum it should let you share it to your phone the same way the oculus go does. I assume if you can get your phone to display on your TV then you could show it that way.
