How's this for an idea to help pay the bills, though? Why not try to sign up some advertisers for the high traffic times that you can forecast, like the week of the trade deadline or the FA no-sign period? I mean, the first week of july in 2010 is going to be absolutely BONKERS around here.

The general idea is turn the high traffic times into advantages for the site. I know it's a horse before the cart thing with having the infrastructure, but once that's in place there's no reason it couldn't be an advantage.

Anyway, keep up the great work.
