Week 1 2018 |Browns vs. Steelers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I swear the last two years rotted some of ya'll's brains.

"It's ok they didn't win because ______" is just not acceptable for me and shouldn't be for any of you either.
You developed a major way of posting around here. Not going to call it a schtick, but you are sticking to your guns at least.

It's amazing how the Browns continue to blow my mind with how they lose (and tie) games. I am still sitting here just stunned. How do you cause 6 turnovers and lose?

How does Tyrod refuse to throw deep all game... then when we just need another 8-12 yards to get a decent FG attempt to win the game in regulation... he chucks it up to Gordon and throws a pick?

There were many other plays that stand out that killed us, but that is the worst. I can't believe he did that.

I wish we would have won too.. But some of you don't realize what they were playing through. Look at how a future HoF QB was playing and a team that is a consistent playoff team performed..

Did they hace a ridiculous number is penalties hah like us? Yep.. What about the Falcons and eagles on Thursday?

Would you rather have had our QB or the steelers' today? I'll take the guy with no interceptions...

Did our FG get blocked? Yep, but theirs shanked one from a yard closer.

We have a lot to improve upon but still did enough to stay in a game and come away with a tie. I bet that gave them just enough confidence but made them just as hungry for next week.. Excited for the rest of the season.

I understand the frustration that a lot of people have, but I don’t know how you can’t watch this game and see the progress versus the last two years.

The defense was getting consistent pressure all game and did better against the run game the second half. The offense actually has some playmakers at the wideout position instead of a crew of stone hands that they have. Yes, Tyrod played like poop, but the rain didn’t help matters. If he continues to play shitty then at least we have a guy waiting on the sidelines with bonefide potential, another thing we haven’t had in the past.

It’s one game. The turnaround wasn’t going to happen overnight.

At least the losing streak is over...

...I think?
Depends on the league I think.

This is like the Indians winning streak last year. It was the longest winning streak, but not longest "winning streak"

I haven't made this conversation personal, but you really should have had a different expectation going into this game. I can't help you with that. The last fifteen years of losing in the third quarter always meant the Browns mail it it. It didn't happen this team. I like that, and Browns fans should like that. Good luck with all your mental baggage, I hope you shed it.

My expectation is to win football games. The Browns were only like 3 point underdogs when the line closed. It was a winnable game.

For all intents and purposes, they overhauled the entire team this offseason. What the Browns have done the last 15 years is flat out irrelevant to the present.

Tyrod Taylor went to the playoffs last year. He has a winning record for his career as a starter. His QB rating for his career is 91.2. I expect him to do better than a 51.8 QB rating. I expect him to win games.

If the other team gives the ball away six times, I expect to win every single game.

This idea that "oh well the Browns weren't expected to win and they always fold up like a tent and they didn't this time, so why are you mad?!" when it's a completely different set players is such a horrible loser mentality and attitude.

I'd shop Tyrod and start Baker week 3.

I have ZERO FAITH in TYROD!
Tyrod played terrible in the conditions, but you don’t shop him. It’s nice to have a veteran for once.

Steelers should shop Ben by that logic. He had like 5 turnovers.

I know it seems like I'm ranting and raving mad, but I'm really not.

I am just finally coming to the grips with how badly the last two years especially have warped this board's sense of expectations in regards to the Browns.

Just because the Browns were historically bad the last two years doesn't mean that we should accept moral victories. They brought in a QB that went to the playoffs last year. They brought in an OC that has been the play caller for numerous playoff teams throughout his career.

They overhauled almost the entire team. They went into the game pretty much as healthy as they're going to be all year.

I expect them to play better than they did. Flat out.

And in the eyes of Vegas, we did win.

What's with the attitude?

Let's not act like Philly didn't trade Bradford to open the door for Wentz.

OPEN THE DOOR FOR BAKER AND DONT LOOK BACK.

ETA: I was a firm believer in sitting Baker, but I don't see how Tyrod keep Baker off his heels playing like that.

I mean... if we also ignore Ben being a HOF QB and Tyrod getting benched to Nathan Peterman because they were so fed up with his conservative bullshit play and then trading him away despite not having a ready replacement.

If we ignore all that, then yes, Ben should be shopped as well lol.

You guys are upset about this?

The Browns can play Pittsburgh to a tie after going 0-16? Wow. Losing streak is over too. Great comeback and so much to like on Defense. Ward is a stud. Myles is a freak.

To pin the lack of a win on some people I'd say, in order:

1) Playcalling...really bad.
2) Jabril Peppers - this game could have been won in regulation if he has any field awareness on punt returns. Once again proving what we know about him.
3) Tyrod - not a great tame. I see why Buffalo took a 3 for him.
4) Special Teams - obviously you need to make that FG.

The streak is over. Not a bad game for us. I thought for sure we would blow it and lose.
