Week 1 (9/13): Browns @ Jets [1:00 PM EST, CBS]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am just guessing here but it could be something to do with you being the only person on this site that comes off as unlikable 100% of the time. Again, that's just a guess.

Even I'm likeable 17-20% of the time.

People stick to their 'schtick' more in other sports forums on this site than they do even in EAYOR lately.

Back to lurking I go.

Romo carried the Cowboys for a good stretch of his tenure.Thats on Jerry not Romo.

but lets look at Romo's history for a moment.

He was undrafted out of college.
He was third in the depth chart behind Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson.
The Next season the Cowboys brought in Vinny Testervede .Romo was on the verge of being cut until Quincy Carter got busted for drugs.
The Next Season they brought in Drew Bledsoe.
now for 2005 Romo moved up to 2nd string.

It wasnt until near the beginning of the 2006 season that Romo got his first start after playing a half where he threw 3 interceptions.

Question is. were the Cowboys sitting on a Gem and chose to ignore it cause he didnt have the 1st round pick pedigree or did it take him some time sitting back and watching as a backup to develop his craft into the QB he became.
Sean Payton was willing to trade a 3rd round pick for Romo but not the 2nd jones was asking for and Payton was the guy who brought Romo on board. This was before Romo took over for Bledsoe.

If you're going to sit there and tell me I'm the only one "needling" people, then I'm beginning to think it's become more a personal issue you have with me.

I'd prefer you moderate all of it or none of it, but to single me out is hilariously off base.

My only regret was sending you polite PMs when you did it in the past and banning the other guys.

Take a week off.

AZ got RKO'd out of nowhere.

Hey randolph. whats your take on Romo

is he an example of a guy getting development time and seizing his moment.

or is he an example of how coaches will choose pedigree over whats in front of them.
after you get past guys like Andrew luck, Peyton manning, Dan Marino etc.

What separates your Drew Bledsoes, Danny Whites and Gary hogebooms from your Roger Staubachs and Kurt Warners

Hey randolph. whats your take on Romo

He has grown on me. I remember a lot of smart football people hating on Frank Gore for his first few years for various reasons (too slow, doesn't catch passes, bad knees) then suddenly when the 49ers had upgrades elsewhere under Harbaugh, the guy ends up the all time Niners rusher, still doing it for Indianapolis. He kind of snuck up on people when the pieces around him were problematic.

I feel like that with Romo. First off, I dig his work ethic and I think that's why he will end up with a great career in the end. I thought he had huge gunslinging plays but just as many brain fart plays, he also had the back issue for a few years. He seemed like a poor man's Brett Favre, which can win you games but lose them just as fast. With Linehan calling plays behind a stout line, I have developed more appreciation.

Some guy called in to Baskin & Phelps today and mentioned this touchdown, anyone remember this? How did a 10 yard penalty move them back only 1 yard?

The penalty was 10 yards from the spot of the foul, which happened about a yard deep in the end zone against one of our DB's who was trying to come out of the end zone to meet the ball carrier but was being grabbed from behind.
