Week 5 (10/11): Browns (1-3) @ Ravens (1-3) [1:00 PM EST, CBS]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I feel like I did when Mangini was winning meaningless games with a veteran team that wasn't going anywhere.

It is nice, but this group isn't growing towards anything. We'll win our 5-6 games but I don't see much of a spring board effect heading into next season and without getting any real difference makers in here don't see how the corner gets turned.

There is no law against drafting good players outside the Top 5 or Top 10.

I thought I'd come here to see optimism and happiness after three good 4th quater/ot drives.

No! I want to suck! Progress? Fuck that.

I just want a quarterback. :conf (11):

I don't get it either.

Game threads are 75% people making dumb "predictions" for the off chance they're right and can say "TOLD YOU SO!! lol" and 24% people hoping we lose. 1% of the posts are actual attempts at being original and/or having game analysis.

Book it.

I really thought a majority were on the tank, well above 24%. I must have misread that.

I'd rather have a team that wants to win, and a coaching staff that wants to win.

I've seen a lot of business men going through the motions to cash a check the past decade and a half.

Sure, so do I. But I want to see the Browns win on Sunday, too. And what happens at the draft, happens. I won't be unhappy if we draft further down and get a future All-Pro linebacker or safety or receiver. We could use those, too.

I guess I'm just tired of watching this team lose, and lose, and lose. Whether a win is "meaningful" or not, I enjoy it. I'll concern myself with the draft in May.

I have yet to witness a coach who doesn't want to win. Many of these players are fighting for a chance to have a job next year as well, they're in the same boat. The difference is, we have traditionally lacked the talent/ vision/ game plan to be successful long term. I still think that's a factor here. Would you say this was a well-coached game? Did you think that it was a winning performance for 4 quarters? Would you trust this defense to win games? How about the offense?

Simply put, what are the odds of this team making the playoffs? I've seen plenty of 5-7 win teams in Cleveland, I don't find it that thrilling. I actually think McCown is a quality starter, but he's at the end of his career. At some point very soon, we'll need to replace him, as he is only a stop gap. I suppose if you think Manziel can be that guy, then great. I think Manziel is going to be the next Brady Quinn, only shorter and less accurate.

It's important for all the young players on the roster to experience winning. This ain't a playoff team, but games like this will keep Shelton fighting, keep Desir studying tape, and get Gilbert to learn his position. Don't discount the importance of meaningless games.

at the end of the game it was all about doing what the browns do best.. kicking a field goal

The amount of hate Pettine gets around here is really absurd.....
