Week 5 2018 | Ravens @ Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We did try to get him a little route in the flat. Ball was a little high and zipped, but was catchable as it went off both his hands.

I didn't remember that play. I do think we would get some bigger plays out our RBs if we had some two back sets so we can motion guys in and out of the back field and use them as lead blockers to keep defenses on their toes.

I only remember that one pass play that Baker actually threw it to him.

I do agree about the 2 back sets, although with chubb clearly needing to work on pass protection, I think we'd be limited with him and hyde or duke together. Now, hyde and Duke? Yeah, think we could be very creative with that.

I'll keep harping, we need a fullback. Not 4 1 dimensional TEs

Ravens have our number. Williams D will give up over 400 yards. Ravens front 7 is formidable. Our special teams are, umm... Hue Jackson is still head coach.

Baker is legit, but not our week. 27-13 Baltimore.
Ravens lost our number. Opportunistic D showed up. Special teams (minus kicker) did a nice job. Hue Jackson is still head coach.

Baker had some hiccups (duh - first home start for a rookie) but took it to consensus Top 3 defense. He is LEGIT. It WAS our week :celb (15):(finally)

It wasn't close to catchable

I don’t agree with that. The ball was lofted high and landed around the 5-10 yd line. He might not have gotten to it but it would’ve been close.

Landry got knocked down at the 24 yd line. The ball landed at the 7 yd line and was 10-15’ from the sideline. Landry might not have quite made there but if he’s not held or knocked down I bet he gets to within 3-4 yds of it.

How about those Rams ? 4th and inches at their own 43 up only 2 pts with 1:39 left go for it instead of punting and QB sneak to win it.

Should the Browns had gone for it 4th and inches to win at Oakland or not ?

Debatable but I think I would have gone for it knowing my D was totally unraveling at that point in the game. Feels like one of those calls where you get ripped a new one as HC if it doesn't work out and McVay has the job security to make that call. Hue does not.

The QB sneak is almost impossible to stop on those plays. I think the Browns absolutely should have, especially up 8. D was looking lost in the second half. Play to win.

Because the qb doesn't always throw a missile deep out of bounds. If the ball is uncatchable there's Really nothing consequential they're actually doing on the play.
The ball landed WELL inbounds.

How the fuck do you know it was uncatchable if Jarvis would have been able to run unimpeded?

How often does Baker throw "uncatchable" balls, or anything even close to uncatchable?

The ball landed inbounds at about the 7 yard line, Landry was knocked to the ground at the 26.

The ball was pretty much directly over his head when the contact was made.

The odds are likely he would not have caught up to the ball and been able made a play, but I think if that contact happens at the 16 and not the 26, they throw the flag for sure which is what’s wrong about the ruling to me.

If Landry gets lit up ten yards further down field they’re throwing the flag even if there was a zero percent chance of him actually catching up to the ball.

Was at the game on Sunday. First off, Clevelanders, you go hard. Tailgating was fun, cops and everyone were super nice, the stadium was fairly easy to get into even though there were thousands and thousands of people there... My key takeaways from the game are
1. we need to diversify our offense. It is super predictable at the moment.
2. our defense has a lot of exploitable holes. Guys were getting burned left and right. They did buckle down in key moments, which bodes well for the future, but we gave up far too many easy runs and a lot of the guys can't tackle to save their lives.
3. The refs were awful... It seems as though every week, the refs just don't want to give this team calls. There were two almost definite intentional groundings by Flacco that weren't called and a bunch of super weak calls that took our yardage away. And that should have either been either a PI or some level of illegal contact.
4. Mayfield is great, but has a bit to go and needs some more consistent pass control (and blocking). Part of that is it felt like we were stuck behind out own 10 so often and we were unable to get much of a run out. But he had a good amount of passes which were almost picked off.

I'm glad we pulled that one out, but we also need a new kicker.
