Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

Tonight's a good example of where SA misses Kawhi the most. Late in the game, the Spurs came up empty on a number of possessions because their best option was LMA, and it's too easy to stop post players in today's game.
Completely off topic, but are there any rules like the hand check for dribbling that can bring the post up back? Even if you make it easier to score on post ups, it doesn't take away from the fact that it's much harder to enter the ball with the focus on length and mobility and roaming/switching defenses.

Memphis is kinda but not really tied with Brooklyn in the standings now. 1 less win, but also 1 less loss. It's essentially a 3 way tie for #6 right now with Phoenix, Brooklyn and Memphis.

Gasol sat with a cold tonight so it was really a huge win for them.

They are willing to trade Tyreke, but may not get the first they are looking for and just keep him.

But Conley is also quite possibly coming back soon....which should help propel them past Brooklyn for sure.

And Brooklyn is just beginning to get into the hard part of their schedule. Things looking up for the pick.

The only teams that I am not counting on at all to pass the Nets are Orlando and Sacramento.

The combination of youth, no true go to developing star, and no true system/good coach on either roster make me feel like although they might get closer to the Nets, they will ultimately be the worse two teams in the league.

I absolutely count on Utah, Chicago, Memphis, and Charlotte continuing to separate upwards from the Nets.

So that leaves a big cluster of Nets, Lakers, Mavs, Hawks, and Suns to battle for the 3-7 slots. I think, barring major injuries or talent dumps at the trade deadline, those teams will all revolve around each other all the way to the end of the season. Of those 4 other teams, I see the Mavs(good coach) and Lakers(good young talent) as the two most likely to pass the Nets by the end of the year.

Final 4-8 games, we could see teams intentionally tank and the Nets without motivation to will at least make an effort in their games. Doesn't mean they'll win though.

Final prediction, at just past the mid point of the season, is that the Nets end up with the 4-5 slot in the lottery and on lottery night we all hold our breathe and hope like hell they shoot into the top3

It seems every Lakers player is banged up. Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, Nance and KCP are all dealing with injuries. Not great.

I'm hoping Orlando get pick 1 if we don't so they draft Ayton as I believe a cluster of teams between them and us don't need a point guard which may help Trae Young slide to our pick if its in the 5-6 range. We will need the nets pick to finish in a better spot than Phoenix for sure though.

Atlanta = Schroeder
Celtics/Philly = Kyrie/Fultz
Dallas = Dennis Smith
Kings = Fox

I say we give the Magic a win and just lose this one. Who cares about about our record to be honest.

What a rollercoaster this pick has been, easily the most interesting aspect of our season to date

Some interesting stuff to think about. Since 1985 only 7 teams with the worst record got the #1 pick. Oddly enough 3 of 7 just happen the last 3 years. Before that there was just as many teams with the 6th worst record win the 1st pick as the worst team

1st best odds 7 times
2nd best odds 2 times
3rd best odds 7 times
4th best odds 3 times
5th best odds 5 times
6th best odds 4 times
7th best odds 1 time
8th best odds 1 time
9th best odds 2 times
10th best odds 0 times

It goes south after the 7th worst record on. Cavs have little to no luck drafting gems but insane luck in the lottery. 9th worst record gets us Wiggins #1. Only happen one other time. 8th worst record gets us Irving #1. Never happen before. 3th worst record gets us Bennett #1 and worst record gets us LeBron number #1

The end of this Knicks/Grizzly game is a total referee clusterfuck. They're completely fucking the Knicks over, HARD.

I'll take it. GRIT N GRIND BABY!

It was an absolute joke. I really feel like NBA officiating has reached a new low this season.

I could care less who wins the lottery, but I will be annoyed if Boston gets the Lakers pick

The absolute lapping up Celtics tears scenario is the Lakers finish with the #2 overall odds.

Then on draft day, they jump to #1 to have Boston lose the pick. I'd die laughing.

That or the pick has the #5 odds and some team jumps LA, pushing the pick down to #6, with Boston losing it.

Just from a pure karma standpoint, we really need this to happen.

Odds are they will get the #1 pick, create an absolute dynasty to match the Warriors, and those two will go to the finals every year for the next half decade, making the NBA unbearable to watch for a long time.

If it is #1 overall, LA keeps it.

Boston only gets the pick if it slots 2-5.

For your second scenario: Brooklyn with 7th best odds, wins the lottery and knocks LA to #6. Cavs Pick 1st. Would be the best lottery moment for me since the Kyrie lotto.

Preferably they just end up with a better record than Brooklyn and end up outside the top 5 and do not have any ping pong luck. Really not trying to stress during the lottery that much, lol.
