I know you’ve been higher on Young than most. What are your thoughts on his recent struggles? And how do you think he would fit in our offense?

My "big board" is very fluid after Doncic/Jackson at the top. Right now I'd probably have Young in the 5-6 range, and I'm open to moving him up or down depending on how he plays for the rest of the season.

While he's struggled shooting the ball from deep, he's still producing well offensively in other areas. He's still on pace to finish the season as the all-time freshman leader in free throws, and could very well end up the all-time freshman leader in assists too. That's not a fluke, and those are skills that should translate to the NBA.

On the Cavs, hypothetically, I think he'd have a gravity offensively similar to what Kyrie had (though I realize their games are very different). He'll continue to draw double teams and drag defenders out beyond the 3-point line, and unlike at OU, he'll have teammates who are very capable of taking advantage when he gets the defense scrambling.

Of course, the Cavs offense is already great, so it'd be risky to add him on the grounds of "if it ain't broke don't fix it." On the other end, Cavs are still a leaky ship on defense and they can hardly afford to punch another hole in the hull. So while I might have him 5-6 overall on my big board, if I'm the Cavs, I probably wouldn't take him any higher than 7 or so and I'd probably look to trade him in that case.

Low work ethic combined with question marks in his game makes an easy pass for me.

If we get #1, it's Doncic. If we fall outside #1, I have my fingers crossed for JJJ. After him, it's Porter and Bamba. I want two-way players.

Bigs in general scare the hell out of me early in the draft because of work ethic. Most bigs have had it easy their entire life and never had to develop any skill other than being bigger than everyone.

I probably like Jackson the best. If we get #1 I think we draft Doncic, but I'm not sure we keep him. ATL had three first rounders, so I could see them picking Jackson at #2 or #3 for us and then drafting someone else for us later in the first then trading rights.

Completely whiffed on the point. Your mindset is way, way off too.

If we keep the pick and the player, he is not being built around, especially right away. He’ll be developing with LeBron. You’re acting like they’d be given the keys to the franchise right away...wouldn’t be until their 2nd contract that that happens.

You’re telling me KAT couldn’t win with LeBron? Or Embiid with LeBron? Or Davis with LeBron? I call BS on that.

Also, glad you know how all these early 20s bigs careers pan out already...

Passing on the BPA because he’s a big because supposedly you can’t win titles with them as a centerpiece is ridiculous.

I’m not saying pass I’m saying I’d rather have who I started and I never said KAT or EMBIID couldn’t win with LeBron. I’m saying they can’t win being the best player on their team.

Not sure why we would trade Doncic if we get him. JJJ is a nice prospect but I don't think he will ever be able to carry a team. Doncic has the potential to be a franchise changing player. With or without LBJ Doncic can succeed. JJJ would be 3rd on my list behind Doncic and Michael Porter Jr. He has impressive shooting range and great defensive upside but he won't ever be a guy who can take over a game on offense and carry a team. This is coming from an MSU fan who has watched every game this season.

No kidding...I wouldn't be surprised at all if Doncic is an All-Star next year if he ends up in the East. He's that good.

Largely on how they see him and what they are offered. Phoenix and ATL have multiple firsts. I would be happy to keep him if we got him. I'd also be open to trading him for a good haul, depending. There are questions to ask as well. Is Doncic really a PG? If you draft him do you re-sign Hood? Does LeBron permanently move to PF is he stays then? What do you do with Love?

Doncic is intriguing. I have questions about D for him, but I agree that he could be a star.

He's certainly a point guard...check out the passes at 0:18 and 2:50 in his highlights from today:

This was his worst game overall in a while, and he still had a couple passes that would make any NBA point guard proud. And the really remarkable thing is, in spite of being his team's #1 option offensively and frequently throwing ridiculous passes like those, he hardly ever turns the ball over.

Every time I see a highlight of his, it looks so underwehlming. He seems so slow to me, and very none-athletic. In this video he missed pretty much every single shot, and all his points came at the FT line.

I keep seeing on here many people saying he should and will be #1....but to me he seems anything but.

That's...why I said it was his worst game overall in a while. If you want to see a game where he makes shots, try virtually any other game, lol. He got up for a nice dunk yesterday too, for what it's worth:

Even that dunk looks just, OK. Lol

Anyways, I don’t want to see a video of him making some shots. I want to see him DOMINATE everyone on the court. If he is worthy of the #1 overall, then he is supposed to jump out of the screen easily, right?

EVERY video I have seen of his, looks just like the video above, but just that a few more shots go in.

I admit I am no scout, and I have admitted that before as well, and I’m probably wrong here, but one thing that nobody has yet to change my opinion on is the fact that he looks like a JAG!!

I don’t wanna draft tall JJ Barea #1 overall.

He looks like complete shit in that video.

Tall JJ Barea,rly??

Lol he looks amazing in literally every other video and is younger and more productive than any college prospect against much much better competition.

We probably won’t have to worry about taking
Him though because he’s probably going number 1

That's my concern at the 1. Not sure he has the speed to play that position. May have to play the 3 or 4.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought this. He's looked very slow in every video that I've seen. I'm no draft expert, but his speed seems concerning to me. If he's a point guard will he be able to keep up with his man?
