Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

I am also worried about Luka. He seems to be too slow for him to be a difference maker in the NBA. He has probably the highest floor and the lowest ceiling from among the prospects.

Even that dunk looks just, OK. Lol

Anyways, I don’t want to see a video of him making some shots. I want to see him DOMINATE everyone on the court. If he is worthy of the #1 overall, then he is supposed to jump out of the screen easily, right?

EVERY video I have seen of his, looks just like the video above, but just that a few more shots go in.

I admit I am no scout, and I have admitted that before as well, and I’m probably wrong here, but one thing that nobody has yet to change my opinion on is the fact that he looks like a JAG!!

I feel like I'm being trolled...he did dominate that game. He's dominated more game against better teams than any 18 year old in basketball history.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought this. He's looked very slow in every video that I've seen. I'm no draft expert, but his speed seems concerning to me. If he's a point guard will he be able to keep up with his man?

Just because he plays the 1 offensively doesn't mean he has to defend 1's. God, you guys make it sound like it's a bad thing that he's 6'8" 230 instead of a midget like Trae Young :chuckle:

All I'm saying is that he looks slow. It's great that he has size, but does he have the athleticism to be an elite guard in the NBA? I've only seen highlights of him, so idk the answer to that. What position do you think he would guard?

He'd probably guard SGs, SFs, and PFs depending on whether his team is playing big or small. Somehow he apparently looks small to people, but he's 6'8" with a 8'9.5" standing reach (same as Bagley, for example).

I want nothing to do with either Luka or Trae Young and I hope whichever sucka GM's draft them are really prepared to tailor their entire team's to cover for their weaknesses.

Doncic might be a step slower than Hedo Turkoglu, but everyone is so enamored with the potential for him to be Larry Bird with a baguette in his hand that we are willing to look past his horrible athleticism, lack of a first step and give him credit for all of the intangibles we raved over Rubio and Sarunas Jasikevicius

Speaking of Jasikevicius...

He showed me more at Maryland against tougher competition in the ACC, than Doncic has shown me over there. At least Jasikevicius could use his jumper to get separation to go along with his playmaking wizardry.

It’s not like Kyrie or Steph are winning any foot races any time soon. Speed seems like an odd thing to get caught up on. You guys looking for a Wall or Shroeder?

1. Bamba
2. Ayton
3. Porter
4. Jackson

My Cavs wishlist with the Brooklyn pick, and the best prep to pro prospect barring them not going to Orlando :chuckle:

Kyrie and Steph could get all of the separation and go around guys with their first steps that they needed.

This guy has the first step, speed, and athleticism of Greivus Vasquez.

And that may be an insult to Vasquez. I saw him herk and jerk all over every backcourt in the tougher ACC.

He looks 6'6 and he looks to have the agility and first step of Enes Kanter :chuckle:

His freshman year at Maryland (when he was the same age Doncic is now), he managed 3.1 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. But stats are meaningless, and because it was against "tougher competition in the ACC" I guess that's roughly equivalent to what Doncic is doing now anyway.

I'd say about so.

Doncic started playing professionally in 2015 so since his Freshman year of High School.

Rubios “lack of athleticism” has never hurt him on either end. If he could score and shoot like Doncic he would be a perennial all-star!

If you’re good enough with the ball, the explosiveness of your first step is much less important. I don’t think Doncic is gonna have any problems getting to the rim and if he’s allowed to play enough pick and roll I don’t see how he ends up anything but a monster offensive player in terms of production and efficiency.

You can pick out just as many “quick first step” busts as you can “not as quick Eurolean guy” busts.

Can’t teach his feel for the game.

Yes, that's definitely a point against him ;)

If anyone's seriously concerned about him having the agility of Enes Kanter, DX did a nice video on his defense after Eurobasket last fall, which I posted in the other thread:
