No. Mikal Bridges is clearly a better shooter than Bates-Diop and it’s really not that close. Kind of a lazy comparison but I’m assuming since he’s from OSU that’s why you did it.

I'm not a OSU fan. I also don't think the difference is as big as you do. Bates-Diop didnt get nearly as many open looks as Bridges. If you put Bates-Diop on Novas team I'm willing to bet he would shoot 40+ percent from three. And if you put Bridges on OSU he would have been around 38 percent. Bridges is slightly better but the gap isn't as wide as their draft positions indicated.

A line up of

Bridges
Osman
Sexton
Zizic

Free Agent Power Forward

could grown into something.

Is this a serious post? Any NBA offense worth a shit in 2018 is trying to generate open looks from 3pt. The amount of guys who shoot 3s w defenders in their face is very small.

You just watched a team for 4 years that was predicted on creating open 3 point shots.

Mikal bridges was a far superior 3pt shooter in college his final year than klay.

Your comparing apples to oranges. Bridges had a stacked team and got all kinds of open looks at Nova while Klay was on a completely horse shit Washington State team where he was the only offensive threat. Do you not comprehend the difference?

Pretending bridges only shot well because of the system is a lazy take. Yes the system was good but Bridges is an elite shooter. Acting like anyone cluld have hit those shots is silly and wrong.

Hitting open 3s is a premium skill in the nba, especially in big games. A lot of guys cannot even do it. Have you heard of a guy named Jeff Green? Or what about rockets bricking open 3s nonstop in game 7? Guys choked. Bridges proved he can hit 3s at a high rate and be the best player on a championship team in a tournament where every game is high pressure.

Sure it is a good skill. But its also not the type of player you take in the top 10 to be the main piece on your team.

He's never going to be a franchise player when hes dependent on others to get him the ball and get him open looks. He could very well work out in PHX with Booker and Ayton drawing defenders.

In CLE he would have a much harder time adjusting and still doesn't have a high ceiling compared to other lotto picks. You know what your getting with Bridges and it isn't a star.

I agree it's hard to see him as your best player. However, he is going to be at min one of the better 3 and D players in the league.

It's sort of academic. I say Klay is not the best 2 in the league for this reason, but he is still elite and is a piece any team would want.

I'd love him on this team, but I like Sexton better right now.

Youre acting like this is the nfl draft.

Most nba drafts are 3-4 sure things top and a lot of luck

Go checkout the last 10 top 10s and see how many busts ate in there.

Nba draft is a crap shoot, at 8, im taking the guy with the most historically translatable skills. Shooting and defense.

Sexton was a larger reach at 8 than bridges.

Sexton might be good, i hope he is, but he has no elite skills at all right now. Everyone is betting on his development.

Imo “ceiling” and “potential” are the two dumbest and overused terms in nba drafting. Give me the guy who can play.

I remeber we took bennett over otto porter because his ceiling was higher as a prospect. Lololol

Suns took Ayton over Doncic because of ceiling.

Go back and check my posts. I was all in on doncic, jarren jackson and bridges. I have the receipts.

I think Ayton was a mistake. I think sexton was a mistake but I HOPE im wrong.

Im glad cavs didnt get #1 pick because i would have been fighting w everyone about JJJ or Luka.

Leading up to the draft Doncic and JJJ were my favorites
Ayton Bridges and Bridges were the three I didn't want.

I would take Sexton over bridges 10 out of 10 times. And he wasn't a larger reach then Mikal. Both were projected in the 8 to 12 range. But this pointless arguing will get us no where. Cavs passed on Bridges it's over and done with. No use carrying this conversation any longer.

I was a Doncic guy but I also thought he might be redundant with Cedi who to me has a similar game. If you don't hav a point guard you aren't going very far in this league so Sexton was my guy.

Unless we can trade for him.

"Defense" isn't a skill. It is a part of the game that relies on translatable skills and physical abilities.

There are a lot more of these skills and abilities than shooting and "defense". Things like ball handling, straight line speed, lateral quickness, explosion. All very translatable and all things Sexton has in far greater abundance than Bridges does.

Knox looked pretty damn good.

He might be the Donovan Mitchell late lotto steal
