Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He needs to dunk the ball. He has a tendency to go up soft. We should get him a copy of one of those vertical jump programs that they always advertise on YouTube highlight videos.

His touch is so good within that I don't even think it matters if he starts dunking or not. Style points do matter, I suppose.

I suspect if he gets a lot of PT, we will look at his numbers about halfway through the year and his finishing at the rim% is probably going to be right up near the top of the league. Of course bigs always are up there, but man is he seemingly automatic when he gets anywhere near the bucket.

There was a couple in the first SL game that he went up with one hand, kind of held onto it, then flicked it off the glass, and they bounced out. He probably had more time to gather and slam it but I can't fault him for trying to get it up quickly. Ordinarily yes his touch is superb. I think some of it is fatigue though.

He's the young one flying under the radar the most. I feel like he might have as much upside as Osman and Sexton. The trouble is that he is such a traditional center. Will they really come back, or will big wings be the centers of the future?

Who do you guys think has the most upside of our 3 young guys? Sexton is the obvious choice because of his draft position. I'm pretty high on all 3. I like the guts of all 3.

If the kid can play basketball, there will be a spot for him in the NBA, just like how Marc Gasol made a spot for himself. If he can’t play ball, then it wouldn’t really matter what position he played.

I don't think the traditional center is dead in the NBA. We're just going through a phase. It's a copy-cat league and everyone's been trying to beat Golden-State at their own game. They have arguably the two greatest shooters of all-time and now one of the best iso scorers in the game. There's no mimicking that.

We found the most success in 2016 when we went against the grain and played our grind-it-out, iso heavy game. Houston had the recipe last year until they lost CP3, then they fell in love with the 3 and tried beating them at their own game.

The one area GS hasn't been challenged is from the post. Mainly because there aren't elite players in the league anymore who can exploit them there. They haven't faced a prime KG, Duncan, Dirk, or Shaq.

Davis is the closest, but like I've said before, he hasn't figured out how to dominate from the post yet. He's more of a face-up, run the floor, stretchy type of Big. He hasn't learned how to control the pace of a game from the paint.

There will always be a place in the league for a dominant big man who you can run the offense through, get easy baskets, suck in the defense, slow down the game, and draw fouls on an opposing teams best players.

If the Cavs think Zizic is the center of the future, start him, fit be damned. The cavs have the luxury of not caring about wins and losses. Don't worry if Nance/TT doesn't fit. And if they really don't like it, play Nance/Frye.

Agreed. Love has had success with these type of centers before too. He gives them space and he can do more damage from the elbow. Zizic is just a sophomore though that didn't get much time last year. He needs to become a better rim protector, which I think he has potential for. He practices the rule of verticality which I prefer to shot blocking because it keeps the ball in bounds and is less likely to create fouls.

TT just makes everything complicated. Ideal pairs would be Zizic/Love Nance/Frye with Dekker thrown in for small ball at times.
