Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is what I have been saying. Even a bad game from him he is still effective. He just has it. Got to get him some minutes.

I am really open minded about seeing who Lue really is as a head coach this season. But if he buries this kid on the bench behind Tristan Thompson all season I am going to be back on the fire Lue train real quick.

Tristan is a low IQ player, there is no Lebron to cover for him anymore, and he is worth nothing in a trade so there is no point in attempting to showcase whatever talents he does have (energy/rebounding). He can do that in short stints off the bench and maintain whatever low to zero value he has. NBA teams know what he is.

Zizic, while still raw and needing work on his conditioning, holds serious potential as a two way C with legit size and decent athleticism to go along with that size. He will only get NBA conditioning through additional minutes. Why the hell not? Its not like this is some championship contending team. We should be all about development of young players with future potential in this quick rebuild strategy.

Made some good passes and screens... Efficient scorer as usual... Hope his defense improves as he gain more experience... Not bad for a young developing center at all, its a disservice if he doesn't get spot minutes with the Cvas current roster

Start zizic asap... If this team is about winning and lessons, then it's high time to let the youngsters play significant minutes to learn..

Fun fact Zizic had more assists tonight than Sexton, Clarkson, and Hood combined

Hes a really good passer. Lots of potential there.

Love played great with Mozgov and these 2 would have great interior passing. Zizic in the post, Love at the elbow.

It makes a lot of sense to pair them.

If screens were registered as assists he would probably be in double digits.
His positioning and timing are immaculate, and his wide body just leaves the ball handler completely free to operate. If they switch, he rolls inside and scores on the little guy (happened once last night). But Toronto didn't switch a lot and it got Clarkson and Sexton very easy buckets.

He just... is a far more skilled basketball player than Tristan. Tristan is the one that should be buried on the bench on this squad, not Ante. And I think that goes for both winning this season as the Cavs say they want to and for developing for the future as most of us want to. I couldn't construct an argument against it if you held a gun to my head. From any perspective, for any goals this organization may have both short term and long term, play Zizic for the love of Christ.

Zizic's pattern has been to play better with more minutes. He gets into the flow better, and his conditioning improves. Some people may have forgotten that he played so well during TT's extended absence late last season that there were a fair number of articles suggesting TT should lose his spot permanently to Zizic.

Lue will never bench TT in favor of Zizic no matter how badly TT plays, or how well Zizic plays. I just really hope that Koby sees that, and moves TT simply to clear space for Zizic.

The bottom line is that for all the claims that some of us are over-hyping Zizic, TT has no upside. We know what he is, it's not very good, and there is zero chance that he's going to get better. Zizic may.

I just don't see the downside in giving TT's minutes to Zizic.

I saw him catch the ball on that roll and finish a nicr floater from 10 feet and decided he needs to get 25 a night.

He ctahces the ball. He finishes around the rim. Teams actually have yo guard him and he's not gonna be a turnover machine.

You'll lose offensive rebounding, but you'll gain space.

Zizic led Euroleague in offensive rebounds at the tender age of 19...granted, that is one of TT's few genuine strengths, but even there I don't think he has a big edge on Zizic.

I'm not as high on him as some others, but I do like him, and obviously a lot more than Thompson. Plus, if playing him forces Lue to cut out the switch everything defense, I'm all for it. Put him out there.
