Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He does have an air about him and his demeanor, like he could be a real life on court bad-ass.

Watch his European highlights, he doesn't give a fuck. He was bullying everyone in the Adriatic league and letting them know about it.
Even in SL he looked fierce.. he atleast projects to be an above average rebounder and I believe he has great work ethic.

7 foot bullies are a good thing to have. Much better than a 7 foot stiff.

He looks like he could be useful in todays NBA. He definitely moves well.

Not sure he would do much against the great big's of NBA's past like Duncan, Garnet, Shaq, prime Dwight, etc.

But he definitely looks like a useful big in todays NBA. He has good footwork, good hustle, he's springy enough, decent offensive skills, decent basketball IQ. He looks like he could play some rotational minutes against the Warriors and not get killed.

You don't like Sasha Kaun???

Take a look at his foot speed on defense and offense and his PnR driving game.. he even has a nice driving game from the top of the key.

If Zaza friggin Pachulia is a net positive, this kid can definitely help us eventually. He is young, but his game is mature and he plays with confidence.

He is probably a hustle big off the bench, which I love. He has a lot of offensive upside though and that is cool. I've wanted a center for so long, I hope we don't just ship him away. His screens and rebounding are great.

I know it's Euro highlights so take everything with a grain of salt, BUT

Damn, this guy picks up short quick guards driving to the hole and in help defense, sticks with them to the rim, and blocks their shots. Then he finishes with a put-back on the other end of the court a few seconds later. Then he bullies a 7 footer.

He is strong and extremely agile, with natural coordination and footwork. He was the 23rd pick in the first round, the epitome of a developmental big with lots of upside.

I likey.

Just for shits and giggles I'd like to see this guy guarding Kevin Durant. I know, I wanted to see Derrick Williams guarding KD and it never happened. Well I want to see this guy check KD 10x as much as that.

Trying to figure out if he is just a throw in or something special.... Unfortunately, being a center, it maybe a few more years to figure out.

With people saying he is the best Boston prospect you never heard of, it sounds like Cedi ... maybe something reasonable but Cedi ain't going to be a starter...maybe a deep bench guy.

Then you have Ford and others at ESPN, saying he is a top 5 redraft in 2016 draft... but they put in 3 Celtics in (Homerism?) and 2016 draft wasn't that good on win share basis versus other drafts. They put Brown behind Zizic at 7.

Lastly, you have GMs and draft experts saying he would be a top 10 in this 2017 draft. Yet, I only see it attributed to one asst GM in Boston paper (assume Boston GM.) Sounds good. Yet, 10th pick was Collins from Gonzaga whose draft report says reminds him of Cody Zeller. Now a 10pt 6 board Cody Zeller, I can live with. But, a Tyler Zeller, is just a filler.

Overall, he is probably more than a filler but not anywhere near a Shaq, even a poor man's Shaq. Yet, you can say we got IT, Crowder, top 5 first and another interesting middle of 1st pick. Not bad, especially compared to what LeBron can go to. LA with Ball and Ingram? ... Ford put Zizic ahead of Ingram and Next year's draft will produce better than Ball.... Not bad for restocking our trade assets (doubt we hold onto Zizic to see him develop in win now situation).

His quick jump ability is gonna make him a huge problem on the offensive boards

Hey, you just never know. But all other things being equal I'll take a guy who passes the first initial eye test every time over someone who doesn't have the measurables and natural above average athleticism. This guy passes all these criteria with flying colors. Whether he ever becomes anything in the NBA is another matter but there are a lot who don't show as much as this guy at this stage of their careers.

Absolutely nothing not to like here and I'm looking for any positives I can out of this whole Kyrie situation.

His aggression can't be taught and it is nice to see a young guy hustle like that. It means he can be effective boarding and some D right away. The fact that he has offensive upside is a plus. Being able to take it to the hoel in transition is big for this team. He is a different player form TT and Edy so that is a big plus.
