Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Green has always had excellent physical tools to go along with good basketball skills. He just has always failed to maximize his potential. He may just have a great season under LeBron. Lots of veteran, championship-pedigree talent on this team to reel him and other young guys in.

Greens biggest problem was playing outside of himself. If he can stick tot he things he does well and run the floor and defend, he will kick ass on this team. He can play Derrick Williams role in his sleep

I think Green will be an excellent fit against the Warriors. When they roll out their small line (errrr, death lineup?), Green can defend the 4 or 5 positions.

Agreed. The only issue will be his jumper because GS will cheat off him big time to pack the paint.

I agree, he should match-up well with Durant, Klay, Draymond, and Iggy... but I still don't know who we have that can defend Curry. Both Wade and Bron are no longer quick enough laterally and IT & Rose are going to get torched. I feel like length and lateral quickness is what gives Curry the most trouble. I think Shump does a decent job on him but he's shown to be a non-factor offensively.

If TT's stinking it up in the finals.

Just go LeBron/Green/Crowder as our front court for "small ball" when Love is resting..

Draymond and iggy maybe. But KD has smoked him. Jeff Green isn’t exactly a DPOY candidate. He’s very JR Smithish on d. Sometimes he’s good other times he gets lost. Putting him on KD would have the same effect that RJ had. Crowder and Lebron are our only hopes against KD and that’s still not good.

I don't think we worry should about the Warriors at all right now.

We simply need to work ALL season on our TEAM defense, on our paint protection, and on our transition defense.

If we improve drastically on those 3, compared to last year, then we'll be in a MUCH better position.

Worrying about individual matchups at this stage in the season is dumb.

Not sure you worry about defending Curry because of his quickness. He really is not that quick. You need someone that is committed to staying with him at the 3 point line, something Rose or JR can do.

I am worried a bit about how do you hide IT on defense. He will get posted up by anyone that he defends. Kerr is a very smart coach and uses mismatches well.

Also - individual defensive matchups matter less against the Warriors because of how much of their offense comes from cuts/off-ball screens and how little it comes from basic PnR/ISO. The Warriors don't want to generate matchup-defined looks because that is not where their players excel.

The way you defend as a unit, and against various play types, matters much more than who will matchup against who.
