I mentioned this exactly when we signed him.

Jeff Green has failed because he is not a alpha or even a top 3 on your team guy. He has always been signed based on his huge physical gifts, never his lack of mental gifts.

Here with a reduced and simplified role I thought he would shine, which he has. He is asked to do very little except what he is best at.

Still love the signing and I called it our best signing in the off season (that was before we grabbed Wade of course)

    No.

He reserved them for Rajai Davis and Mike Napoli, who were in fact "pennant winning moves".

And @Real Deal I love it. You pennant winning move motherfucker.

He may very well have. But he also used them for Austin Jackson. Do you see him denying it?

Who fuckin' cares anyways, he's not getting nailed to the mast because of it, sailor.

I'm saying that's where the joke originated from, and why he "reserved it for Austin Jackson".

Relax, chico. Just trying to help him clear it up with you, since it was an exchange between the 2 of us.

Wade and Korver getting all this love recently for 6th man of the year, but this dude is right there with him. He has been so fun to watch. Might be the most athletic player LeBron has played with on the Cavs. Its awesome to see someone else out there besides LeBron catching lobs and throwing down monster dunks.

I'd personally like to see him take Crowder's spot in the starting lineup and get more minutes but I know you could argue with that by saying don't try to fix what's not broken. What I would ideally like to see though...

    Wade
    Korver
    Crowder

He should play more than 21 mins a game.

I think IBWT said it earlier: He made some mental mistakes earlier. That's probably why he shouldn't play too many minutes. One of his better skills: Exploding to the hoop, off of his line-drives and alley-oops. And we're maximizing them perfectly.

It feels pretty damn good to have him off the bench with Wade and Korver. They're all averaging double digits (in a niche-type roll).

But when your other option is Jae Crowder, who is giving us basically nothing... He's gotta get more playing time. He's been so much better than Crowder, it's not even remotely close.

Jeff Green can get picked on a little bit by good coaches defensively if out there too long especially against starters. Kinda like Javale McGee but not nearly that badly.

Joerger did it today and got two easy dunks in crunch time.

Love Green. Just really don't think he should be a starter or even have his role increased substantially especially not right now.

Maybe increase things SLIGHTLY and see how it goes...make it a gradual thing...

Also...if we have to deal with 70 games of underwhelming Crowder...but manage to unlock good Crowder in game #71 and beyond...it's worth it. Last years Crowder is something that would help take us to an even higher level. We need him. I'm not giving up on him. He had an amazingly tough of-season/camp/early season(traded, mom died, role question marks....then struggled to start the year). Has been a professional through it all.

Whatever is working with Green...dont break it. Keep doing exactly that. Don't get greedy.

@InBoobieWeTrust if you're talking about the sequence I think you're talking about, that first guy was actually LeBron turning his back and LeBron's man going back door. Green was yelling "Bron! Bron!" to try to get his attention and got stuck between the two guys. But Green did get lost on one of the next possessions right after that.

Green is perfect on the 2nd team... he has proven in his career that he is mediocre as a starter and thriving now on the bench squad (probably because hes playing against lesser talent than starters of the opponent)... hopefully he stays within himself, he is at his best when he doesn't need to dribble much (just cutting, lobs or transition) and just use his athleticism... its when he tries to iso/postup that he gets his Javalle moments...

It’s like when the warriors started Harrison Barnes over iguodala despite iguodala being a better player. It works because the starters can play with just about anyone at that position. But the bench needs the spark.

Jeff Green's role shouldn't be increased when there is a healthy Isaiah Thomas and Tristan Thompson. He absolutely should be playing more now though.

He brings the ball up the court, he gives us length on defense, he can push it full court, he's actually a decent passer and he can guard out on the perimeter.

Thankfully IT and TT seem to be getting healthier though.
